I was a bully before it was difficult because I experience hating myself because others doesn't please who I am. Grabeh ma low-esteem but thank God I found real friends, I entered religious communities who help me boost up my character. I learned to love myself even though others can't do that to me, I learned to know more of myself. Its not for my classmates to tell me who I am, I know myself better and I strive to prove to myself that I can do better even to this day and more days to come hehehe

its part of growing up on the child. it depends on him on how he deals with it. for me i'll teach him how to win friends because those who bully are mostly your not so close friends.

    it's part of any culture.
    the bully and the bullied.
i was the bullied and it taught me a lot about life.
that it is unfair and that you need to stand up for yourself.
intervention is probably necessary when the issue manifests in physical abuse.

    hhmmm....

My son is three years old. I have to keep explaining to him over and over again that it is okay to feel angry. But not okay to hit or shout at others.
It seems to be working as he is now able to say, "Mommy, Im mad. But, Im not hitting or shouting." Then he smiles and waits for me to praise his behaviour.

My problem now is helping him to identify when other people's behaviour towards him is wrong. A few days back, he was playing with the door in the fire exit and the janitor (We live in a condo.) shouted at him to stop. I had to explain to him that its not okay for other people to shout at him and that he has to tell me everytime it happens.

...bullies are cowards...nya they are crying out for attention....mas talawan pa na sila kaysa ilang gi bully...

anyway ...i would tell my kid that it is not necessary to always "win" in all arguments...all the fights ..there are other ways of winning like topping the class..excelling in sports...having great friends....so when naa times nga naa mo labaw niya ok lang sad...to just walk away from trouble but to always let me know if it comes to a point nga scared and bothered na jud siya (sometimes man gud ang psychological effect ani mas grabe pa kaysa physical...so kon mag hulat pa ta dapatan basin awahi na ang tanan).

I also was bullied during my elementary and early high school years. As far as self-esteem goes.. I was bullied in as much as I wasn't getting any respect in contrast with the 'normal' and cool guys. I knew it had something to do with my personality and my ineptness to jive with the 'in' groups at that time.

Good thing with being bullied is that you learn to be more sensitive to others.
