Oscar is not considered a hard puncher in his present weight class anyways... and he doesn't rely on his punching power nowadays, it's mostly the accumulation of shots.... He's got a good jab, a very good defense, very quick, power from both hands, and one of the best left hooks of the game. A Wright - de la Hoya could be the match of the decade.. (or de la Hoya vs Floyd Jr.)

if delahoya vs wright will happen, i will go for winky. i think it will be a lopsided decision. remember the two fighters who beat oscar were of no match for winky, not even close except for winky vs mosley 2. delahoya vs mayweather will be a blockbuster but i doubt if the fight will happen due to delahoya's trainer is mayweather sr. plus this bout will just aggravate the turbulence happening to mayweather's family but, i hope it will happen coz it will be a hell of a fight.

Oscar beat TITO .. Oscar totally outclassed Felix on that fight, that decision was pure crap just `cause Felix decided to box and dodge the last 4 rounds.. ... Oscar's 2nd fight with Mosley was debatable, I thought Oscar won that bout.

me too thought that oscar won those fights but they were close fights. if you compare the performance of winky against mosley and trinidad, it wasnt even close and it was one sided. winky almost scored an upset against jermain taylor, the person who beat the great bernard hopkins. oscar looked like a mouse played by a cat before devouring during his bout with bernard hopkins

Winky vs The Golden Boy would be one hell of a bout

both guys can showcase a boxing clinic everytime their on the ring.... i'd go with winky on this one since he would be the bigger boxer of the two.... but Oscar Dela Hoya was not called "The Golden Boy" for nothing.

Franklin... the Hopkins/De La Hoya bout was shady .... if you look at that body shot, it was partially blocked by the elbow... and it definitely looked like there wasn't much power behind that shot.. yet OSCAR was down on canvass grimacing.... then a few weeks later, HOPKINS became Golden Boy Productions major partner....

A little bit fishy...

By the way... Winky = Taylor > Hopkins > De La Hoya doesn't necessarily mean that Winky > De La Hoya. Boxing don't work that way.

Regardless... Winky vs De La Hoya would be a great fight... and it wouldn't be a major blow-out I think... it would be a very very close fight.

i dont think oscar - wright will be close. oscar is past his prime and i dont think oscar's fast flurries can penetrate winky's defense. winky is also campaining in the middleweight division and oscar cant bring his power in that division. he sucks in that division, remember the highly controvertial delahoya - strum bout. maybe millions of dollars can bring back wright to the junior middleweight but i dont see that fight happening

imo, a delahoya - mayweather bout will be more competitive and if ever it happens it will surely be the biggest non-heavyweight bout of the decade

yes i agree with you that boxing doesnt work that way just like what happend to ali-fraizer-foreman bouts but it has bigger probability that oscar will lose in that situation and it will not be a good exit for delahoya

Agreed that Oscar is past his prime... personally, I think he should retire right now.
If Wright would step down to Welterwight (147), it would be an interesting match... I think Oscar's punching power isn't much of a factor past the Welterwight division.
