u got a point bro....but y familiarize and adjust to a system wherein there are suitable players and more experienced..I'm still clinging on the idea of either KG or TD playing 1 more time for the US in Olympics...

I'm also wondering what happened to Shane Battier...y wala cya maapil?

why familiarize a system? look at ARgentina and how well they play even without Manu, Pepe, Andres, need I say more?
while TD and KG are good players that can bring veteran leadership and international basketballl experience, maybe the coach feels that Tyson, Amare and Dwight are a better fit to his system, not only on offense, but in defense and the whole game in itself. Everyone in the team is picked for a particular reason, and these guys deserve to be in the team and IMO, TD deserves to be here too if only the coach finds him a better fit to his system, and even KG yes...but it is the coach's call and so far he is successful with his roster: no loss so far

yah it's true that they should familiarize but I'm doubtful with Amare & Tyson if they are suitable in this offensive scheme..sometimes they get lost...then for Howard's case I would like to see more of his own post-up moves like what Carmelo is doing, he's a beast inside and should stay that way..just like the '92 Dream Team - David Robinson, Pat Ewing can shoot consistently those outside jumpers, even Karl Malone too...it was ONLY Charles Barkley who was bruising their opponents despite his size (6'4")...there were several instances if the opponents big men would initiate the offensive scheme of their team, theyd get lost or they're not able to properly switch to the guy who has the ball...they're basically relying in blocking shots from above the rim, y rely on it if u can control/stop the offensive player from taking off or attempting the shot through denial defense...which ONLY their guards are doing exceptionally well...JKidd needs also to attempt a shot once in a while to make him a threat not only for his passing but his shooting as well..if they would do this then even a select world basketball team can't beat them...I'm also wondering "what if steve nash played for this team"...mura jud ug harlem globetrotters!

i'm expecting changes for the olympics roster especially in their big men and backup guards...

of course when they go back home, they will surely reevaluate and talk about how to better tweak their lineup if need be, TD, KG, Dwight, Amare and Tyson all deserve consideration so we'll see

You have to familiarize the system if you've got to play as a team. Bringing in more experienced players such as Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett is not a winning guarantee is everybody is not familiar with the system, just like what happened during the 2004 Olympics. Everybody was picked like mangoes, given uniforms and sent to play. Other teams play excellent team basketball and everybody knows that the only way to beat solid team basketball is to outwit and outplay them and not by mere skill, talent or even experience.

Regarding Shane Battier, he backed out along with Kirk Hinrich, mao tong si Nick Collison ang gipuli niya and unfortunately, Collison was cut by Coach K.

Well, there's a big difference regarding the 2004 team compared to this team now...especially in the selection of the guards..if Kobe & JKidd played for that team, they could have influenced their teammates to play team ball...I can't see A.I or Starbury respecting or getting accustomed to the idea of team play...it's a pity for Larry Brown and players like Melo & LBJ to play with them...

for sure, those people who were previously involved in the US Senior Men's Bball program naglaway ron, kay this team now is playing team ball...makaingon jud to sila apila ko sunod beh...

Sakto jud, the presence of Jason Kidd could've turned the 2004 USA Team a lot stronger. Yet, even with Iverson or even Marbury, USA can still team oriented basketball if it was really designed for the team. The problem is that the 2004 Team lacked team chemistry, kuwang ra kaayo ilang preparation, resulta sa ilang kompyansa. A gold medal should've been way better than Iverson's record of 7 three-pointers in a quarter.

The 2008 USA Team has learned and is building up out of the previous team's lapses that's why aside from the fact that Kobe, Kidd and the better and experienced LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony is with the team, USA has given more focus on team play, defense and outside shooting.

nah A.I & Starbury plays a different game..maybe A.I can accustom himself in a team game, it's unfortunate he's branded ballhog...c starbury saonz streetball ra kaau ug dinuwaan...

OT: a compliment from a legend to the current team http://www.star-telegram.com/287/story/220060.html
