China (last minute) banned the showing of the movie in it's theatres..

I think the movie would have been the bridge between China and Japan..Knowing Chinese actresses (Zhang Ziyi & Gong Li; Michelle Yeoh was of Chinese descent but a Malaysian citizen) played Japanese characters..It's too bad that the Chinese are still too sensitive with past isuues..We can't blame them anyway...Have it their way..
klavel...i dont know if you read about it...but last year ( i think) there was a big uproar between china and japan ..ang rason kay japan released textbooks for their students....and the chinese claimed the japanese downplayed the real events that took place....Japane version: The incident that happened killed many people etc etc....the Chinese retaliated by saying Japan should not alter history and should say : The massacre killed hundreds of thousands of people etc etc....big difference daw between incident and massacre...and also just saying many people and actually saying how many thousands died...aron ang mga bata nga hapon makabalo jud daw sa tinuod nahitabo...Japan withdrew the books from the shelves and a few months later published another version...sus pag tan-aw sa mga insik watered down version man daw gihapon...mao di jud na sila mag human...di man gud sila parehas sa pinoy forgive and forget![]()
i love this movie!!! interesting nga lingaw.. tragic sd kau but the ending was ok...
must- see movie! Zang Ziyi - great actress. The girl who played her when she was younger was quite impressive as well.
hay, will china ever change her mind and be more open and understanding? they're missing out on something if they continue to be so...i don't know. history is history.
Geishas are Japanese. I wonder why most of the cast are Chinese. Why? Why? Why? Oh, why?
wow....that hollywood taste made me not like this movie...
well i think it all boils down to marekting strategy, i mean there's no hollywood actress of japanese descent who is very popular at the moment who could play the role well enough. i was thinking that they should've chosen that girl who played gogo in kill bill or maybe utada hikaru but yeah, hollywood is hollywood. they don't care if the actors are not japanese as long as they look asian.Originally Posted by dAmNseL jEnY
