Default S*x Ed: unsa jud ni?

The debate about RH Bill ensues. While there is an issue on corruption from the budget of contraceptives, another major concern of those who are anti-RH bill is immorality. Immorality in that the bill is anti-life. But that had already been debated upon. It is also safe to say that immorality is subjective. However, quite a handful of people say that s*x education is immoral. That claim, IMHO is almost whimsical. Well, they might also have basis for postulating that. That is why I created this thread, to gather different insights about s*x education which is a vital part of the bill.

    --------
To our respectable MODS: I am not sure if I should just insert this to the RH Bill thread. But I guess it is better to have a separate thread intended for this topic ONLY. But if you think otherwise, then please move this thread. Thank you and more power!

s3x ed is not about teaching the act to the student but educating them more about consequences of the act like unwanted pregnancy and getting sexually transmitted diseases. part of the education is to empower them with the knowledge on how to avoid this things and of course since it can't be help at our young age we will explore our sexuality and there is nothing we can do about that students are going to be inform also about ways of preventing pregnancy and ways of protecting our self from getting sick.

there is no negative effect. whether we like it or not teenagers will learn s3x at a young age. some of them will do the act in HS some in college life. it is better we equip them with the knowledge about it so that they may understand it in a proper context. it is better they receive proper education about s3x than learn it from somewhere else. the real problem is, we have a somewhat conservative society and culture teenagers and parents does not talk about s3x at home. we only talk about it if nabunits na ang babae and it's too late. so the best venue then to educate them properly about s3x is at school.

unsa man gusto ninyo inyoha mga anak makakat.on ra about s3x sa mga magazine, movies, barkada and other media which in most cases the core of the discussion is about the pleasures of s3x and not the consequences of unprotected s3x.

The argument that *** education causes children to become promiscuous is just plain ridiculous. I would like the detractors of *** education to show me ONE study done that proves this. Just show me ONE peer-reviewed study, published in a legitimate science journal, that proves the correlation between *** education and increased promiscuity.

The below are all my opinion. Do not attack me but attack my opinion.

[1] unsa man jud ang s*x education?

S*x education is about the works and wonders of the reproductive system of male and female. However, it does not only end to that. *** education is an intrinsic study on the human dignity and the person as a whole, not just the s*x organ; that is, *** Education should make us different from dogs.

[2] unsa ang mga dapat i-apil ug dili dapat i-apil sa curriculum?

    What should be included:
    a. Biological Matters--reproductive system, cause of pregnancy, fertilization, sperm, egg cell, good and bad effects of masturbation, delivery of baby, etc...
    b. Human Dignity and Social Matters--avoidance of pre/non-marital ***, promiscuity, (worst) incest, etc.
    c. Reproduction Method--Natural method, artificial method, pros and cons of natural method, pros and cons of artificial method, health effects on contraceptives

    What should not be included:
    a. S*x aesthetics and performance--positions, speed, demonstrations, film showing of pornography
    b. Bias--any bias on artificial method over natural method and vice versa.

[3] isip inahan, amahan, magtutudlo, o bisan igsuon, unsa man kaha ang mamahimong maayo ug dautang epekto unya ani sa atong mga kabataan?

Teenagers are the focus of s*x education, so there are only two 50-50 possibilities: accident and control.

For control: These are the ones who have high spirit that can control sexual urge between the teenage couple (uyab) upon learning the topics on *** education, plus the curiosity of the nice feeling of doing it.

For accident: These are the one who have low spirit that cannot control sexual urge between the teenage couple upon learning the topics on *** education, plus the curiosity of the nice feeling of doing it.

Did you read any of the studies on the links that you just posted? Because I think you may have just shot yourself in the foot, partner.

From Sexual promiscuity: knowledge of dangers in instit... [J R Soc Health. 1994] - PubMed result :

"They suggest the need for a compulsory course on *** education emphasizing the medical and social consequences of sexual promiscuity in colleges, for parents to become educated on how to raise children to reduce the problems of sexual promiscuity, and for *** education training of teachers."

From JSTOR: An Error Occurred Setting Your User Cookie :

"Significant differneces between groups were not found. This study was unable to find evidence from the gross data analyzed that random "*** education" in the curriculum has any direct promotional or inhibiting effect upon premarital sexual behavior of petting or coital type."

So, does that mean that you agree with me? You agree that *** education does not have any effect whatsoever in promoting promiscuity?

I never answered your question. So please don't suppose that I have said yes or no. Thank you.

Well I asked for a peer reviewed study, and you posted links. So I assumed you were responding to me. Apparently you weren't? I am confused. What were you trying to prove?
