Malignaggi's lack of respect of the champion just gets into my nerves. He talks about knocking Cotto out yet his record shows that he lacks power for his size.

21 wins with just 5 knockouts coming into this fight with Cotto that kind of record will not help him againts a power puncher. try to draw your own conclusion base on the wins via ko by malignaggi.

Thadeus Parker - was on his first and only professional fight when he was ko'ed by malignaggi (may have fought just for the money).

Robert Sowers - was on his second fight when ko'ed by malignaggi. fight record wins 5(1 ko)- loss 4 - draw 1.

Luis Melendez - coming into the fight againts malignaggi, he had 1 draw and 3 straight defeats all via knockout. and he would go on to have a record of 3wins 10losses 1draw. a glass chinned fighter (even Rodel Mayol could probably knock this guy out).

Anthony Simpkins - was defeated 3 times all via knockout before fighting malignaggi.

Kevin Watts - probably the most durable and experienced glass chinned fighter encoutered by malignaggi. record shows that he had 5 defeats all via knockout and 1 unanimous decision defeat againts Lou Bizzarro who has a record of 24 wins with only 2 via knockout a very light puncher.

*** now evaluating malignaggi's wins via knockout he does not have a chance in a million to knockout Miguel Angel Cotto. i doubt it if malignaggi could maintain his handspeed until the later rounds of the fight, that is if he survives until the later rounds.

IF he pulls something unique and effective out of his hairband and wins this fight, then he earns my respect. but he won't be holding to any belt for long cause next in line would be Jose Luis Castillo.

yes, malignaggi is creating a hype for the fight but we dont know, malignaggi might win. this might end up like the zab judah - carlos baldomir bout. most experts gave baldomir a very slim chance against judah. judah has great skills but has a glass chin. there were reports that judah knocked down floyd mayweather during their amateur days. but, miracles do happen. imo, malignaggi has 20% chance against cotto but i predict a 4th round ko wtih this one
