im in favor of abolishing the senate! they are just a cost of money to the filipinos with no use at al!! they must be abolish immediately!!

abolishing the senate in a presidential system is tantamount on changing the form of govenment into parliamentary form were there is only 1 house ..Â* so it cant be abolish under the present laws...

anyway Gma had already have eo 464 so the senate is beaten as for now inside the political ring... now look who is stronger

ur right at that..we cannot just directly abolish the senate since we are under the presidential system..
2 options:
* we will go for a constitutional change for us to totally sweep the senators out (whom we voted for in the first place)
* and since we voted for them- the only removal duly mandated by the constitution is tru an impeachment process..which is too impossible..

Unless ni mausob ang form of government ato na lang gyud accept ang reality nga naa gyud gihapon ang senate. Di lang gyud ta magpadala sa ilang mga promises during election. Let's vote sa naa gyud agi sa senado.

the only recourse to this problem is at the "school level".
if the youth of today don't practice "HONESTY, INTEGRITY and ACCOUNTABILITY"
and strive to uphold these values growing up, then it's all gonna be a vicious cycle.
it won't matter what "system of government" the Philippines will adapt
if it's citizens have the very same traits like those bastards at the helm.
I'm pretty sure we'll be having the same problems like we do today.

not only that..i think showbiz people and first timers (no experience at all) should start from the least position..like baranggay captain, councilor, etal...the wrong thing about loi as a senator is that she never had any public office experience and the only reason (i think) she ran for senate was bec. of Erap..quite depressing was that she won bec. of his husband's popularity..
