Yes Filipinos bitaw ang gabuhat sa system. but my point is- ikaw, ako, kita- walay sala why there is poverty. But the people creating the system of low wages and the people implementing low wages are the ones responsible for poverty.

Unless of course if you have a company and giving low wages to your employees, then you are responsible, you have caused poverty.

I dont have a company to run but I employ 2 maids and giving them a salary of 2000 each. The maids serve only 4 person-me, my wife, my 2 sons-6yr old and 7yr old. Although gamay pa ila salary- free sila uli 2x a year and I give them pamasahe. They will also be getting a 13 month pay. I am planning to increase their salary this year and every year becasue I want to help them. I wanted to send them to school for free but they declined.

With hyperwage, all will benefit. Ayaw mo kaguol sa mga tag-iya ug companies kay dili na sila mapurdoy but their income will be tamed.

Well said, al1974. You might also want to direct those very same comments to another poster here.

    Well said, once again.

Now that you've brought it up, we give our household help salaries higher than the present average stated by Bentulan. They have enjoyed increases within 6 months of the day they first join us, and enjoy increases every year. We also give them a bonus on their birthdays. Aside from that, they enjoy free medical care and free schooling for their dependents. If so inclined, we even send them to school. One graduated and became a bookkeeper for one of the businesses. Overnight, from domestic help wage, she went to staff pay.

The office from which we run our business has a modest staffing level. But our office staff also enjoy the same non-wage benefits. Those are on top of their SSS, PAG-IBIG and Philhealth benefits. I have interviewed applicants to most of our office positions. I always ask them what they were making in their previous jobs and the answers have always dismayed me. CPAs working at P7,000/month. An honors-graduate industrial engineer being paid P6,000/month. A CPA-Lawyer working for P4,000/month as a casual employee at one of the cities here. When I ask them what their salary expectations are, they usually cite a figure that is not much higher. Without exception, we have hired them on at salary levels much higher than even they expected. One, a single mom with a son with learning difficulties who had been jobless for over a year, broke down and cried when we told her what we were going to pay her. She cried once more when she saw her salary increase the following year.l

Now we have a bunch of happy employees. Turnover is... well, we haven't had people leave yet with the exception of one who left for Canada because her husband got a job there. Our employees happily multi-task. Their output surprises even me at times.

So you see why I am interested in the Hyperwage Theory. I came to this thread wanting to see how it stands up to the harsh reality of the Philippine socio-political environment. How it could be implemented despite the uphill battle it obviously faces. Because within our own means, we have implemented our own humble version of hyperwage--uplifting a few people's lives in the process, we hope.

Unfortunately, one particular individual on this thread manages to single-handedly stifle any meaningful discussion on the matter. Everything degenerates into insults.

Mao raman gi hapon wla man gi hapon tay mabuhat.
    sauna raman ni na issue..hehe

So for now, The only way i can help change my country is maningkamot ko
maka tukod ko ug company or business na mka hatag ko ug dako na salary
sa akong mga employees na fellow filipinos.
Cuz for me taas akong pride pananaw smga filipinos. And dili sensilyo ang
sweldo sa mga filipinos. SO right now, manrabaho sko na dagko ug company
then until i got my saving already. Mag tukod na gyud ko ug business na enough
    mka grants sko dream hehe

So sir al1974, ur right . Starting a self to have or help ur community, is to give them
a bigger salary. But the only problem is, Ang bad politics naman ga control sa atong
gusto nato ipa tuman. and i think mo take pa ug time na ipa dungog nila ky magpa bungol2x
    sila hehe...
So for now, lets start our self and maningkamot ta atoa na matabangan nato atong Cntry. hehe
Cge lang ta ani ug blabbering2x then wla ta lihok2x, cge lang ta reclamo2x... hehehe
Mypa mo lihok nalang ta atoa and start changing it the way how it live's hehe
    na kuha ninyo akong points?
