I have searched arguments, debates about white GSD's and their health attributes. So far they outnumber the defect belief. They are much prefered than colored ones in the U.S. for home and pet use. The defect notion is an old preference which is slowly decaying.

Before I bought a WGSD, I was skeptic about thier traits and especially their health risks. But when I found out about the Quality of the dogs, they pose no threat.

I agree that some breeds exhibiting the White recessive color are defects like albino dobermans, there is no such thing as white dobermans, and so as other unnatural colors. But WGSD stand through the test of time and is also mixed woth colored ones to achieve the best results. Maybe WGSD's are defects at first but through selective breeding and evolution, they stand and formed a much more competitive breed.

If these were true then why did not the AKC approve this new breed?

There are politics involved with regards to this color. WGSD's are recognize by the AKC, but can't be shown in the conformation ring. But before 1960, It was considered equal with colored GSD's.This legislation banning WGSD's from show was passed 30 yrs ago when the rising of WGSD's popularity was increasing and much prefered compared to colored ones.

Sooner or later the AKC will approve of this color on the show ring. Other organization like UKC, FCI recognize WGSD's as equal despite the color, some organizations even separate the breed calling it White Shepherds.

I have a male 7 months old WGSD w/ papers but I dont plan to sell him. I'm keeping him as my Stud dog.

If I can find another stud that is of exeptional quality for my female(near heat na siya) then there might be puppies in summer, otherwise I will wait for my male WGSD for its breeding age.

You can always buy WGSD's in manila pero mas expensive jud sya kay bayad paka plane fare and other miscellaneous expenses.

Sayang bitaw jud ang Malamute, I wana buy pud. pero If i'm buying one, I wana make sure that its the best quality around. dili ko ganahan sa quality ka2 kay shamankin6. Lahi rajud ako nakit-an sa internet.

Research on the breed first before buying a WGSD.
