sorry for the delay of response, I really couldnt get a good look at the specimen but it can only be either of these two species......The locality and size would suggest that it is a puddle frog (Occidozyga laevis) but the patterns and tubercles would rather suggest the Asian brackish water frog (Rana cancrivora). If you have more pics or if you still have the specimen, try to check if it has a V-design right between the eyes....if it has then it is a R. cancrivora if none then it just might be O. laevis. check the net for more reference and info.

tiki raman akong pakaon sa ako.. dili siya maka tulon anang white mice nga baligya sa manalili kay dako ra para niya.. mura raman pod siya tudlo kadak-a gud nya mga 19" katas-a.. kana ra gagmay kaayo nga gitawag ug hopper iyang matulon.. ambot unsa klasiha ni sa bitin mura ug garter snake or rat snake ba kaha..

my skin's on the O.laevis mate... As most sp. on that locality is on sps.. not to mention that O.laevis mutates a bloody lot, depends on the environ...

But then again, anurians not my slice of pie.. Heycroc could be right on this, as he's the man on local sps.

And bloodu right on checking the net.. Tons of info you can get from mr.google..

an elapid, mostly nocturnal elapid, fossal but very beautiful snake.. i caught 1 healthy fiesty male on my trip last weekend in the island of camotes.. this bloody herp literally crawled and bunked itself inside my drybag..

good for those shutter-bugs..

we would love a pic sir herp_doc. hope you could grace us with one as most havent seen this venomous elapid. An actual pic would be highly appreciated but a pic from the net will do as a reference......just so for the viewers to see.

I'd love to but i only have my vga mobile phone camera to rely on, as i still have yet to buy a decent camera..

Im thinking about letting this herp free. As they're very specialized feeders. And i dont have the liberal abundance of Calamaria sp., its main and probably only diet.. Not to mention they're bloody crikcey hard to find.
