    Unhappy SATA Motherboard & IDE HDDs,how?


    guys, my motherboard (mb) finally died on me. this mb uses IDE to my two IDE harddrives. i looked around and it seems there areno more IDE mb available. i still have important data on my hdds. if i buy a new mb with SATA connection, how can i still use my IDE hdds?

    Please advice. Thanks!

    Most MoBos still have at least one IDE type slot. But only one. You may want to check out further...

    Yes IDE is still alive but limited to only 2(max) IDE devices.

    that sounds promising guys!

    another problem comes up --

    my video card is AGP: Palit 256MB DDR2 AGP8x... are AGP motherboards still available?

    yes pero lisod kung brand new. most of them are used.

    What do you use your computer for?

    Th answer to those two questions could greatly help the tech gurus here in istorya in making recommendations to you.

    baligya nlng na sa B&S section imu VC bro.. Are u in gaming bro? f not, palit lng ka mobo with onboard video.. kung slight gaming lng ka, naa man daghan mobo na up to 256mb ang shared video onboard (mostly nvidia chipset mobo) then f makakwarta napd anha lng ka palit ug PCIE na VC..     current specs:

    AMD Sempron 2600+ (1.8GHz) Socket A
    two 512MB PC333 DDRAM
    Palit AGP8x 256MB DDR2 Video Card
    LG 4163 DVD-WRITER (IDE 2 slave)
    LiteON 52X CD-ROm Drive (IDE 2 master)
    40GB HD (IDE 1 master)
    320GB HD (IDE 1 slave)
    ECS 741GX-M motherboard

    The power supply just blew up a couple of minutes ago so I have 2 damaged items now: motherboard and power supply. I hope a motherboard with AGP and IDE is still available...

    i need an upgrade path that can make still use my CD-ROM & DVD-Writer drives, AGP video card and my two IDE HDDs. I will wait for your advice, thanks!

    bro better upgrade to SATA and PCIE ...... bwt sa mga files nmo, e transfer nlng sa sata HDD nya ibaligya dayon.. kasagaran nga mga boards nga agp medyo nabyaan nmn, but naa gihapon baligya ana, pro sa akong mga nakit an, bati man nga mga board.....
