Default What is your stand here?

To better familiarize/acquainted with each others' "views". Kindly post some info about your beliefs (not the nature of your beliefs in a generalized way. Just your personal stand and it will be treated that way). So we might at least get to respect each others' personal scope of understanding. It is my observation that most arguments start with misinterpreting sources or misunderstanding replies. Samok sige pataas sa storya nya ang hinungdan naa lang usa ka word na wala na sabtan. Hahayz.

    I'll start. Follow this format:
    Nick: tokidoki/tokidoki_v2.0

Christianity: Jesus was a historical figure. He was a great teacher and a religious leader. I consider his followers delusional and blow his teachings out of context for their own personal gain. Male-centric kai lalaki man si Jesus.

Catholicism (dapat ilahi ni): I used to be one. I didn't like it my allegiance was done in birth. I deserve the right to at least choose or follow my own beliefs. Male-centric. Too much politics. No different than a country's gov't. This makes sense since Catholicism was originally used as a form of governance. It is in denial of the fact that their numbers are dwindling.

Bible: Read it when I was a kid and in high school. I outgrew it and moved on to other things that doesn't give me too much contradictions and frustration. The bible by itself make its readers kill each other. It has nice sensible stories but I don't take them seriously.

Islam: I respect their beliefs. They are not only strong believers but also strong warriors. They have my utmost respect. I believe it is male-centric.

Quran: never read it that much. The violence do indeed exist. Then, again, how would that be any different from the Bible? Everyone's throwing stones at each other.

God (not subjective to any of the above): He is unknowable. While religions define his nature only God knows God. He cannot be described in a book or the understanding of one individual or a group. I do not claim to know him. He may be good one day and bad the other. It's indefinite. Since I am agnostic I have a strong stand with this above everything else. Why build large organizations/institutions in his name when all it serves are the people who built it on his behalf. Let this fact be known to all aron di mo tantong ihas/stupid/foolish kung mangita mo ug bikil nako. My god doesn't have a church he is the very existence that binds us. I would also like to point out that my belief in God is NOT BY FAITH but by OBSERVABLE BEHAVIOR (we exist therefore he is) in the real world.

Paganism: Pre-christian beliefs. I still have appreciation for them and, in fact, there are some of their beliefs that I find much better than what we have now. Female-centric that's why I believe it was replaced by modern religions kai na insecure ang laki sa babae. ahihihihi....

Paranormal: I don't believe in it. Nuff said. Skeptics win here 1 to nothing.

Local customs: No matter how weird, disturbing or disgusting it may sound as long as they do it in their own place it's fine by me. I just don't want to get caught being there with their weird rituals.

Others: I am by nature a skeptic. For the record there is no such thing as the IDIOTIC term as a "wannabee skeptic". We don't think inside or outside the box because the box doesn't exist. XD

Do you make your own conclusions or do you follow the norm? I'm masochist for scrutiny so I make my own conclusions.

No insults. No whining about why or asking for basis of beliefs. This is an infos post. Balik mo diri para mosabot mo ngano mao na ilang reply sa usa ka istoryan sa uban threads. Most of all, NO VERSES. God, please, anything but that!

THIS IS NOT A THREAD FOR YOU TO CONVERT OTHERS TO YOUR CAUSE. There are other threads that are already made for that.

on christianity: i think it's Pauline. i think he deviated from the true teachings of Jesus the Christ as preached by his apostles. remember, paul was not among the twelve.
on catholicism: still am. but hardly even cares.
on the bible: read it. great book. great stories. but lots of inconsistencies and inaccuracy.
on islam: its people are the most misunderstood by the world right now.
on the qur'an: planning to have one. i collect books.
on God: the Source. the Creator. Great Architect of the Universe. not the god of the Church.
on paganism: the old ways. the purest form of "religion" because some of its practices have been amalgated by organized religion. pre-dates all organized religions.
on the paranormal: not much. i'm into Theosophy. not ghost hunting.
on local customs: just leave them be. ila sad na.

    what else?

If I post my stand here... what then? Statistics? Segregation? Good or Bad? This is not right for those who would like "privacy". Besides, you all know what I am.

Christianity: Jesus was both historical and historic figure. He is the most quoted and yet the most misquoted figure in history. Sure you can trust Christianity but you cannot trust the very institutions that promote it.

Catholicism: Was once a catholic --- my reasons of leaving is a personal advocacy (against lavish living, anti-poor, intra-politics, etc). differences in theology has nothing to do with it.

Bible: I've read and formally studied it. I just don't quite get why there seems to be so many gods around today more than what it says.

Islam: I don't see the distinction --- only bigots.

Quran: Read some parts of it but I only understand half or less of what it says.

God: "Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations,in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul." ~ Desiderata

Paganism: It's everywhere. Every symbol that we see or use all have their pagan roots and I don't see a problem with that.

Paranormal: Let em be. It's a fact of life that there are those who enjoy cow's dung as much as there are those who enjoy watching them swallow this BS whole. I am more of the latter

Local customs: No big deal. The customs bureau is more concerning.

I was considering this but that would translate a "collective belief" rather than "personal" one. Maskin unsa pa na religion, we all have individual minds with our own understandings. Mao na dapat ishare diri coz it's the root of all arguments here. I noticed that the pattern here is "he's a ***** but he doesn't seem to understand/sound like one". So meaning may sariling interpretation.

Privacy? Well if nag post na sila sa ilang mga POVs, obviously, they are not keeping their personal convictions a secret, are they?

It's not for segregation pre. It's for others to know where or what your personal understandings are. It is my belief that if you know what the person is about in relation to this section then you know the highs and lows of their reasoning.

Btw, to others, when you post here, it is assumed that these are "unchangeable" facts about your personal beliefs. So I hope that would be clear na walay pugsanay diri sa ilang tinuhuan.

Islam: latest major religion in the world

    Quran: book of islam

God: mother and father. more and more i know that i am in the hands of God and i am perfectly and utterly safe

Paganism: term used by religions to other religions. not all but most.

    Paranormal: normal only misunderstood
