Cagayan de Oro has only Big-R or Robinsons Department Store and not Robinsons Cybergate because according to Robinsons Land Corp, the first Robinsons Cybergate in Mindanao will rise in Davao.

I haven't heard yet of condo projects in Cagayan de Oro! But in Davao, it has ongoing condo projects of the Consunji group, Filinvest and other property developers. I should know this because I am from Manila working here in Davao. It goes without saying that Davao is the only metro city here in Mindanao like Manila and Cebu. In fact it was recently awarded by AIM as the most competitive metropolitan city in the country today. Cagayan de Oro cannot compete at par with Davao especially in tourism. It has everything from island to highland destinations! It boasts of an international airport with international flights and 3 duty free shops within the airport complex. It is the de facto capital of Mindanao and in fact the most important city in the island...
Bai, kinsay naga sulti ug tinood?

Nganong ana man mo dira? Akong namatikdan nga murag dili ganahan ang mga taga CDO sa Davao. Unya ang mga taga Davao pud, pag mag storya ang taga CDO ug dili maayo, makiglalis pud dayun. Nganong ana man mo?

It's called crab mentality at an alarming scope. Though not always perfect, Dabawenyos may claim some things and even criticize, but we try to base it on facts, not by malicious motive to the point of lying.

It began when some forumers of the so called "city of golden friendship" (nasusuka na ako makarinig nito ngayon) kuno began to ridicule and mock Davao kay nabiyaan na daw and began making false claims that they are now the premiere city of Mindanao. Understandably the Davao forumers required them to give evidence to the authenticity of their claims, in which obviously they failed. Then eventually it was discovered that it had been the habit of CDO people nga manlibak many negative things about Davao kay there were accounts bisan pasahero sa bus and some CDO visitors who came to Davao grabe manlait, and by my personal experience I encountered two prospective investors who actually withdrew their projects in Davao because it seemed some CDO people convinced them that Davao is not a good place to invest. It seems gusto nila mosaka ilang syudad at the expense of Davao by sowing false claims against the latter. Asa kaha ni sila nakakat-on.

Personally, I was shocked when I discovered their ugly attitude because all along I knew that Davao had been doing its selfless part in promoting Mindanao and even became a proponent of BIMP EAGA for the sake of Mindanao. Even the multi-billion Hanjin shipyard was selflessly provided to Northern Mindanao when initially the investors wanted it to be put up in Davao City but the environmental standards here is strict. It is also part of the general plan of Davao's role in the BIMP EAGA as a major center for Services, Medium and Light industries while the heavy industries may be scattererd to neighboring provinces for the benefit of all Mindanao. But look what they did Ang gibuhat sa mga taga CDO imbes na malipay gidaot ug gilibak pa hinoon ang Davao. Even to the point as making false claims as you have witnessed in this forum para lang mangatik nga mas maayo pa sila. But look what they did to Hanjin, grabe kakurakot mga politiko nila to the utter embarsassment of the whole country, Hanjin even threatend to pull out their projects there due to corruption

I believe not all from CDO naa ingana ka-ngilad nga batasan. These noble people may be the hope for the reconciliation of views on CDO and Davao. Mindanao must work as one, as what the proponents of BIMP EAGA led by Davao would have preferred, pwera lang tong mga ngil-ad nga tiglibak falsely og tig-intriga kay sila magdala'g tigaw ug kadaot.

Davao must learn from this. It is high time for Davao to look after its interest also because from what CDO had done against Davao as an ugly example, the efforts made by Davao selflessly for these places may not be worth it. Davao should be reminded to look after its interest and with other more deserving neighboring provinces that are worth its effort.

Bacchus may be accurate with what he said about Robinson's, so my initial post about it was corrected. Bisaya dako LIED.

    Oi! SmartA$$,

    When I posted this;
"no disrespect, but CDO has already Robinson, SM, and Ayala. While Davao is still constructing it?"

There is a question mark at the end. Do you know what a question mark is? Do I have to send you back to Elementary school to teach what question mark (?) means?

This is probably one of the reasons why Hanjin chooses Misamis Oriental (not in CDO city). Is it because some people are childish when it comes to argument/reasoning? Technically, Korea is closer to MisOr than Davao. Look at the map and find out how much "shipping" distance is required if they opted to Davao. Secondly, Phividec is already in Tagoloan and the biggest (or 2nd biggest) container port in Pinas is just close by. Find out what's in Phividec and do your research.

For the sake of keeping a child stop whinging, ok Davao wins

Ok hilom na dong. CDO will just continue to do things and prosper and ignoring the sourgrapes from that other city

    cheers,
    Bisaya Dako

don't know any specific condo. just google "real estate cagayan de oro" or similar. Even better visit CDO for a few days and see for yourself.

Stop pretending. It only shows that behind your mind it turned out you knew all along that your data is inaccurate but you still pursued it because of your attempt to play on those innocent of what really are the facts otherwise you wouldn't put that question mark if you are sure of your facts, but behind your mind you knew what's the real score but you deliberately put the "?" para you can wash your hands when this time comes. They deserve your apology for attempting to mislead them.

I said Hanjin is in Northern mindanao, not CDO. You should try your best to prove that CDO has many condominiums right now as you claimed, or it will again prove you are lying again, such childish attempt at that. The issue here is not who's winning or what, the issue here is whether you're lying.

Your insulting expletive shows your true color, "golden friendship" ka pa ba?

As an addition to what rocketvision said, not only an alarming level of crab mentality but also a pathetic level of insecurity haha! Regarding Robinson's I have a basis for that kasi nag press release sila sa national dailies. They even have more property projects here. And we don't claim. We prove it with facts. With regards to Hanjin, accurately it is somewhere in Phividec zone near CDO. The proposed shipyard of Mitsubishi in Mindanao will be in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur but still in Davao Region.

We don't need to defend ourselves because WE ARE DAVAO! It has always been MANILA, CEBU & DAVAO. This goes a long way back..

I don't want to generalise but puro lang naman hangin, delusions, illusions, hallucinations ang mga sinasabi nila haha. I even know a member of a prominent family from there (she's a Velez) who relocated here in Davao.

I work for a European airline IT company, our Mindanao office is here in Davao precisely because Davao is the financial and commercial hub of the island that contributes 60% of the travel market in Mindanao whilst CDO only 15%. Our other offices in the Philippines are in Makati and Cebu.

Now tell me CDO forumers, does CDO have the following that Davao has?

    1.) Foreign bank HSBC?
2.) An international airport with international flights?
    3.) International airline offices?
    4.) Airline IT companies?
5.) Large scale BPO facilities or representations like Sutherland, Western Watts, People Support?
6.) Flight connectivities as many as Davao's?
7.) International chain of hotel like Marco Polo?
8.) Other big hotels like Waterfront, Grand Regal?
    9.) Casino Filipino?
    10.) Foreign bank China Trust?
    11.) Condominiums?
12.) World class island to highland resorts?
13.) An ONGOING Ayala Mall construction back to back with BPO and industrial facilities? Ayala has only high end residential development at the moment in CDO and it registers negative double digit sales?
14.) Market significance and recognition by media conglomerates ABS-CBN and GMA?

and the list goes on..I can give you even up to 100 should you demand.
