I would like to see Maggette in Utah as soon as they get rid of that inconsistent Kirilenko...
Brand will sign with Golden State soon... Quite optimistic on that...

Bitaw? Niingon siya ana? Haha...
Financial and team-wise, I'll take Corey over AK47 kay mas barato and then mas upbeat siya once ma-sign siya sa Jazz. It's like a refreshing start for him.I would like to see Maggette in Utah as soon as they get rid of that inconsistent Kirilenko...
For AK47, on the other hand, Utah can trade him for an expiring contract and draft pick aron ila magamit for future contract extensions ni Boozer and Okur. Right now, naki-negotiate pa sila kang Deron for an extension.
Sweet retaliation.Brand will sign with Golden State soon... Quite optimistic on that...
IMO, I don't think Utah needs another scorer. They just need to tighten up and improve more. AK47 is a big part of their game as he is their best defender. He doesn't have to score unlike in the past since they already have guys like Deron, Booze, and Okur. Maggette, on the other hand, is considered a defensive liability. The team that needs Maggette most would be the Spurs, as displayed by their terrible offense during the past season. Of course, it wouldn't hurt that I'm a huge fan of SA.
Orlando Pro Summer League
Miami defeats Chicago 94-70
Impressive Summer League debut for Michael Beasley, the second overall selection in the 2008 NBA Draft showed no signs of a cracked sternum, going for 28 points and nine rebounds in just 23 minutes of action. Derrick Rose, meanwhile, shot an uneven three-for-eight from the field and four-of-eight from the charity stripe on his way to 10 points in 29 minutes.
Beasley said it doesn't matter whom he's matched against when he's on his game. He was in such a rhythm Monday he playfully sang Usher's Moving Mountains to rattle Chicago's players. He doesn't yet have a song in mind for Tuesday's game against the Nets.
''They kept telling me to stop signing, but I didn't want to,'' Beasley said. ``I was happy, singing a happy song. I don't care who's on the floor. You can put the Jolly Green Giant out there, and I'm going to play.''

I just love Beasley's intensity & attitude.. payter kaau..hehe
Corey does not need to score. As I've said before, financially, affordable si Corey compared sa contract ni AK47 karon. Team-wise, it would be his "refreshing" moment to get all the things done kay he's already in a contending team. Unlike AK47 na, at one point, ni-reklamo siya sa iyang on-court efficiency (offense-rotation), which could hurt any team. We all know how attitude works.
Don't worry about it. The team that needs Maggette most would be the Spurs, as displayed by their terrible offense during the past season. Of course, it wouldn't hurt that I'm a huge fan of SA.
Speaking of Maggette:
The Spurs are awaiting the next move of free agent forward Corey Maggette as they remain the favorites to land him for the $5.8 million midlevel exception, according to The San Antonio Express-News.
They would prefer to know where Maggette will end up, especially if it's in San Antonio, before targeting other players and negotiating with their own.
However, Corey has drawn interest from Boston, Utah, Orlando, Detroit, Cleveland, and New Orleans. In addition, Philadelphia and Golden State are possible contenders with the cap space to outbid any midlevel offer.

THE LATEST:
CLEARING THE WAY: SIXERS SEND RODNEY CARNEY TO WOLVES
Philadelphia is close to a deal which would send Rodney Carney and a future first round pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a trade designed to free more cap space, the Associated Press is reporting.
The 76ers will throw in reserve forward Calvin Booth but are working out the particulars of what they will get back from Minnesota. Dealing away Carney and Booth -- with Minnesota and Memphis quickly emerging as possible destinations -- would shed nearly $3 million from the Sixers' payroll next season as long as the trade doesn't require new GM Ed Stefanski to take any salary back.
The deal clears the way for the Sixers to potentially offer a nearly $14 million starting salary and a long-term deal to free agents like forward Elton Brand or Josh Smith.

MAGIC TO SIGN MICKAEL PIETRUS
The Orlando Magic will sign Mickael Pietrus to a multiyear deal, Florida Today reported on its Web site Tuesday.
The deal is set to become official when the NBA's free-agent signing period opens Wednesday.
Magic general manager Otis Smith confirmed the deal to the newspaper, and it's expected that Pietrus will immediately slide into the starting shooting guard spot with Orlando, which reached the Eastern Conference semifinals this past season.
"In the Eastern Conference you had better be able to defend that position," Smith told the newspaper. "We think he can really help us do that."
Pietrus averaged 7.2 points in 66 games this past season for Golden State.

Good news for the Magic! Pietrus will be a good addition since the team is weak in SG spot.

BRAND LEAVING LA FOR PHILLY
The Philadelphia 76ers have apparently won the Elton Brand free-agent sweepstakes.
NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday that Brand has informed the Sixers that he will accept a five-year deal worth an estimated $82 million and spurn what was presumed to be a slam-dunk return to the Los Angeles Clippers to hook up with Clipper-to-be Baron Davis.
The Sixers cannot formally sign Brand before midnight, with Wednesday serving as the first day NBA teams can officially complete signings and trades after the lifting of a leaguewide moratorium, which began July 1.

>>>Kaluoy sa Clippers. Mao raba unta ila sabot na ipa-opt out si Brand aron makakuha sila ug high-profile na FA, who turned out to be Baron Davis.
Clippers - 5-years for $75million
Warriors - 5-years for $90million
Sixers - 5-years for $82million >> Mao siguro gipili kay naa sa East. Hehehe...
On the other hand, the Clippers can still offer Hawks restricted free agent, Josh Smith, a contract that would start at $11-12million.Said one source close to the process: "Elton wants to go east."

COREY MAGGETTE REACHES DEAL WITH WARRIORS
The Golden State Warriors on Tuesday conceded defeat in the chase for Elton Brand's signature by quickly moving on to new targets and reaching a faster-than-expected verbal agreement to sign unrestricted free agent Corey Maggette to a five-year contract worth around $50 million.
Sources told ESPN.com that Maggette decided against waiting to see if the Los Angeles Clippers would lose Brand to the Philadelphia 76ers -- which could have created an opportunity to stay with the Clippers -- to take a multiyear offer from the Warriors at a starting salary above the mid-level exception, which is expected to approach $6 million.

The figure was arrived at after daylong consultations between lawyers for the NBA and the players' union.

so Elton Brand now a Sixer.. mayta mabalik na ang intensity sa Philly just like the good ole Iverson days.. cheer na pod ko balik nila
