    APACHE + MYSQL + PHP

you could install them individually which is better or if your a beginner you can try playin around with WAMP at http://www.wampserver.com/en/ all in one nana sya na installer... or XAMPP at http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

as for developing/coding, perhaps mas ok ang dreamweaver..tho for me im just after for the color coding hehehehe..i havent been using the WYSIWYG view of DW since 2003.

for AJAX coding...best suggestion is go for aptana....

for mockup/interface design, im glued to Adobe Photoshop forever....

and the most important thing to be installed, FIREFOX, OPERA and friggin INTERNET EXPLORER 6 and 7!

    cheers...

@istoryanimo: I'm using PSPad Freeware editor (Program version: 4.5.3 229 for writing xHTML, CSS, and Javascript. I currently learning how to use Photoshop 7 so I can spice up web pages with graphics because http://www.mezzoblue.com/zengarden/alldesigns/ inspired me to. I already know xHTML, CSS and non-OO Javascript (just had to un-rust) but Photoshop is a totally new ball game for me I decided that I prefer becoming a web designer / client-side developer because it's easier although I may have to install the Windows version of Apache, PHP, and MySQL to make AJAX work.

Btw, unsa di-ay idea nimo web designing? Look and feel ra then ipasa na nimo xHTML, CSS, JS coders? Or web designer / client-side developer? Although possible, I think lisod naman siguro expect usa ka tao web designer, client side developer, server side developer unless gamay ra na site.

Kakita man gud ko site sa www.w3schools.com na "mu-convert" Photoshop or graphic designs into web pages so naa di-ay uban mga tao na focus ra dyud look and feel then ila na i-subcontract actual xHTML, CSS coding (optional na JS kung ganahan imo client dynamic HTML, e.g., sliding menus, non-Flash animations, etc.)

You can do with free but good software like

    http://www.aptana.com/ - for HTML editor
http://www.gimp.org - for photo and graphics

You can already create stunning websites with these!
