the bulls rumor was a season ago.
if pau was able available to other teams, naa pud ta rumors what some teams offered to memphis.
again, let's face it, pau demanded a trade before but that died down and memphis management kept pau this season by acquiring spanish guard navarro. so, pau's demand for a trade was history. hehe
bisag asang angle nimo tan-awn, that if d ka die-hard LA fan, the trade was terrible for memphis.

Problem is....nobody asked Memphis....again if Pau was available....only LA was able to do so. Assumption is the mother of all fckups. All they do now is whine and b*tch about it...pathetic.

mao gyud bai, bisan unsaon kansi gyud memphis hehehe unsa kaha ila rason.. bisan kinsa team mag duha duha og dawat ni kwame brown..

sa ako lng pud I think memphis want gasul to win a championship.. remember clyde drexler pag 1994-95 season nga gi trade siya sa rockets for Otis Thorpe..

I mean come on perti ra gyung layo a ni Otis Thorpe kang Drexler.. advantage gyud ang houston ato, winning the title in 4 games against Orlando.

memphis wants kwame cos he has an expiring contract with a huge salary. by next season they can sign na good quality player just like Gasol. Gasol was frustrated where his former team is headed so i think gi trade nalang gyud siya.

the grizzlies owner is actually fixing their financial status, kay currently lugi ang memphis karon, kay gamay ra motan-aw sa ilang games sa home stadium nila... and they are planning to sell it... nobody wants to buy a team nga nag bleed ug kwarta... so gi-eliminate niya ang pinakadako ug contract nga player sa iyang team by trading him to a player who has an expiring contract.

What Memphis did of letting Pau Gasol go was justifiable.

1.) From the start of the season, Gasol was already unhappy with the team and if the Grizzlies didn't acquire the rights of Juan Carlos Navarro, then Gasol might have played for a different team right from the start of the season.

2.) With overall performance of the team, Gasol will leave one way or another.

3.) With Gasol gone, the Grizzlies can focus on rebuilding and they have a high potential pool of Rudy Gay, Mike Conley, Kyle Lowry, Hakim Warrick, and Navarro.

4.) With Kwame Brown's fat $9M contract expiring very soon, the Grizzlies can find a good quality free agent for next season. Topping the list are Elton Brand, Monta Ellis, Antawn Jamison, Gilbert Arenas, and Jermaine O'Neal.

5.) If Memphis ends up somewhere below 25, chances are that they'll end up in the lottery. The 2008 will most likely include big names like OJ Mayo and Derrick Rose but Memphis might be interested in big men like 6'9 Michael Beasley, 7'2 Roy Hibbert, 6'9 Danilo Gallinari, 7'1 Kosta Koufos, and 6'10 Donte Green.

**Aside from his expiring contract, the only logical reason I see why Memphis opted to take Kwame Brown instead of other more able big men is that Memphis might be looking forward to the deep draft. If they'll be able to sign a free agent like Elton Brand or of that caliber and pick a rookie of Dwight Howard or Kevin Durant's caliber, then Memphis will be back in business for the 2008-09 season.

Other than that, I don't see any sane reason why Memphis took Brown for Gasol. . They could've sent Gasol to the East for the injury plagued Jermaine O'Neal and his fat $19M expiring contract in order to avoid to make the West a lot tougher for them.

Like Popovich, Cuban bothered by Lakers-Grizzlies trade
    Wednesday, Feb 13, 2008 6:19 am EST

Mark Cuban said he was bothered by the Los Angeles Lakers-Memphis Grizzlies trade that sent Pau Gasol to Los Angeles for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie and draft picks, widely regarded as one of the most one-sided deals in league history.

"Yeah, it bothers me," he said. "I want to be on the same committee as [Gregg] Popovich."

Popovich, coach of the San Antonio Spurs, said the league should have a trade-review committee and that he would have vetoed the Lakers-Grizzlies deal if he had a vote.

now, they want to build a committee that oversees all trade... just because they feel intimidated by the lakers for having gasol... for that committee to be fair... the members of it, should not be a affiliated with any team... para walay bias... in that case... if popovich wants to be in that committee, then he would have to live his post as a coach and president of the spurs... heheheh!

There's no need for a committee. Trades are made because the teams that are involved in the trade feel that they'll benefit from it. I bet Greg Popovich or Mark Cuban won't be complaining if Pau Gasol ended up in either San Antonio or Dallas and maybe Kobe is the one whining right now and demand for a trade.
