Good opportunity to add more since mutual funds and UITFs are long term instruments.

we have this holding period sa UITF ( and MF as well).
some banks ky 1 month; others, 3 months.
okay rman mo buy ky it's not like stock trading nga pwede i-sell unya, ugma, the day after and so on...

ang bantayan ani ky will it rise na ba after:
    - the holding period (in case i-redeem dayon) or
    - the term you intended for it

same principle sa stock market, buy low and sell high but the problem is how low is low and how high is high.
    "how low is low" (buying)
    - we aren't certain of its bottom so pwede ra mo palit in dips within the range nga ato gi set as low.

    selling

    Example based sa actual value:

    June 13 invested 300K at 379 = 791 units
    June 18 redeem 300K at 403 = 318773
    minus capital = 300000
    gain in 5 days = 18773
    minus 1% early redemption = 3000
net gain in 5 days = 15773 (not bad guys)

BTW, naka-shopping gyud tawon ganina. Kung naa moy bala guys sakay na gyud mo kay buto nani hapit nya kadyot ra kaayo ni mao bantay gyud ta kay kwarta nani ..... hehe

Sa akong gihighlight, unlike stock market trading, timing is really not an issue in MFs and UITFs since these are long term instruments. Cost averaging will work better. I always think of MFs and UITFs as a piggy bank. Regardless if its a correction or a surge, I add to it regularly and never mind the NAVPS. Worse comes to worse should recession come, I'd just switch funds (from equity to fixed income) to protect my profit. Anyway, the NAVPS now would be close to negligible to the NAVPS 15 or 20 years from now.

However, timing can do some fine tuning sa imong investments but its not a priority.

aw, sakto bro... 1% of original participation amount diay ni ang early redemption fee sa BDO Equity Fund, hehe... 0.5% sa PBAL. na retain sako huna2 ky ang sa time deposit diay to nga if i-pre-terminate, mahimong same sa regular savings ra.
in this case, mura ra gyud siya sa stock market.

yes, UITF and MF are designed for long term and nindot ni siya for people who don't have the luxury of time to monitor the market yet nindot man gud sir makie nga maka-in sa mubo samtang makagahin pa time check sa index.

gi himo lang practice ground as if we're playing directly sa stocks, lol. pasensiya, gi lisod lisod ang self sa di angay lisod lisuron (ky like what sir nowayl have said, mura blind investment ky we don't know which stocks are being invested and another thing is lahi jud siya sa stock market trading/investment ky individual stocks jud unlike sa UITF nga ang index nlng tan-awn).

Akoang isuway ug share diri akong UITF Sis para sa mga Newbies nga parehas nako ug wala pa gyud ideas aning mo-direct stock ug sa mga hadlokan .... hehe ... For me, no need to wait how many years to gain sa UITF. Pero i-prove sa nako ni. Basta same sa direct stocks, timing sa pagsulod ug timing sa paggawas (kay blind investment raba ni, anyway cost averaging is labaw pang blind/robotic investment ..... hehe) ug mas effective kung in volume gyud pero pwede rasad ginagmay pero sayang panahon.... hehe

    @nowayL,

sauna, gihimo namo na short term ang UITF bro. mura mi buang... pero like what you have stated, possible man nga mura nimo siya seryosohon or parehason nimo sa direct stocks nga bantay sirado. at least, in times nga murag taas na gyud and you have redeemed it at the right time, dako2x sad gyud ug igo. Year 2013 is a very good example of this. pag May 15, mao nato ang peak and if you were able to redeem the investment, na enjoy na nimo ang profits then you can reinvest again during this time nga ubos napud.

naka suway ko sauna nga in one month time lang, dako kaayo ang pagtubo sa navpu... if i-base sa regular nga dagan, mo abot to tuig

so with that, in some point in time, possible na imo ganahan i-prove.

OT: nag-sugod naka stock market bro?
    kulba pmn, lol, talawan here

Yes Bro mao na akong gibuhat ron bantay serado ni akoa from opening to closing nya lot of readings. I hope dili ko mabuang ani ... hehe
That's why thankful kaayo ko sa akong timing ron Bro nga ingon ani ang market kay nasabtan gyud nako ug maayo kinaiya sa market nya pagsuloid nako, error dayon ko ug I hope dili na mausab .... hehe

Kini akoa Bro wala ni term, basta nus-a right time to buy and redeem mao ra akong bantayan (Value Averaging) and it should be in volume. Hatag na nako sa fund managers problema kung unsa company ni nila i-invest akong kwarta kay I know kung ako mismo mo invest ani, segurado ko dili ko makalupig sa abilidad sa mga Fund managers. So dili nalang nako hasolon kaong kaugalingon which stocks sa 250 to 300 companies man seguro na pilianan ..... hehe /// Pero II don't know basin try sad nako ning direct stock pero for now dili lang sa ko.... hehe
