Cynthia A. Villar was eaten alive by the Filipino nurses worldwide in the social media community just because of an obviously unintentional comment which was taken out of context and reactions blew out of proportion. Apparently, Mrs. Villar was innocently misinformed or uninformed and stated a general opinion but she did not deserve those below the belt comments, mostly personal. If you were smart to analyze, she actually was referring to a in-room caregiver or what we call here a "sitter".

O.A. ra kaayo ang reaction sa atong mga nurses. Most of those who "strongly" reacted were nurses abroad, probably because of their "new found stature". They could just have humbly asked Mrs. Villar to retract the statement and issue an apology, end of story. It was not really about insulting the entire nursing profession, it was about collective, individual egos. The nurses' comments made them cheap. It was distasteful and not meant for a human being. Who has no breeding now?! I would truly understand our reactions with amalayer, but this? We should be smarter than just joining the retribution bandwagon.

I guess their mommahs never told those nurses that, "Nobody can bring you down but yourself."

I am not related to the Villars nor have I worked for them or in the same organization. I am just a logical-thinking human being. But let's not forget that most of our nurses came from the grassroots level and so does the couple Manny & Cynthia Villar, they were genuinely self-made and that counts for something in my book.

I personally won't vote for Cynthia Villar, what for? Her husband is already holding a position.
