Default Experimental Website Project: Facebook-ish site para sa mga bisaya

    Hi Istoryans!

Mga adlaw mga amigo ug amiga.
I would just like to share a personal project nga akong gihimo karon, and hopefully be completed in 1 or 2 months. It is a simple website, similar to Facebook but will be tailor-made for us mga Bisaya. Similar features include: (a) add friend, (b) send personal message, (c) shoutouts, (d) photo sharing, (e) and much more.

I plan, if it's okay with everybody, to officially announce the launching of the site here in Istorya. I am also now in the process of buying the domain, and I will post the link of the site once available.

A "Suggestion Box" will be also be added so once the site is up and running, I could be able to hear people's suggestions and comments.

This is just an experimental project, goal is to create our own social networking site, and the domain will initially be for 1 year. I hope I could be able to gain support from the Istoryan community and from the rest of the Bisaya people. This will then be a channel to promote our beautiful local places, businesses, or personal stuffs.

    Thanks in advance guys!

    Regards and more power!
    The Softworker

the UI design won't be Facebook-ish... we'll try to make the looks as "bisaya" as possible...

it will still be a social networking site; maybe more than 50% of its features patterned from Facebook. however, other features will showcase some stuffs that only bisdaks can relate to, a social networking site dedicated only for us, Visayans; and it'll have a suggestion box which I will read religiously, so it'll be updated to the demands/needs of the users. hopefully i could elaborate it more but maybe i could explain it better once the site has been completed/goes live.

it might sound just a redundant website, but my goal of creating this project is to be able to create a website that we can call our own. it might borrow some features from other popular social networking sites, but i am very open to suggestions on how to make the site different/unique.

remember, facebook is already and institution, it killed friendster, myspace, orkut and etc...

its like designing a new wheel...

we already have that kind of project before from a belgian client, we did finished it, that problem is it cant keep up with facebook, the last thing the internet needs is another social network

if you really want to make something useful and unique dont compete with the current one instead build a system around it... which what i did on my current client a social network in sg but most member are facebook member so i build the site around facebook... and not make another facebook... basicly what i did is a web app

tip lang ni, either way if you really want to continue i wish you good luck, if you needs some ideas or help, i might be able to help you... i dream like that before until i got burn when i reach the sun... now ive learned to adopt the needs...

dont curve your enthusiasm go for it... btw there is already a site similar to what you said, it is a job searching website with FB twist... not sure if its still online thou its been 3 years since i heard about it... i personally know the owner, ive been giving him inputs it...
