Don't you realize you're also putting "spiritual" interpretation over something that we as atheists do not subscribe to. We are ALSO citizens of the Philippines--we also have rights.

    Patas ra.

Unless of course you're suggesting (gasp) that you religious people are somehow "superior" than us atheists, and that YOUR NEEDS need to be attend first, rather than ours, ay nako, dyan tayo magkakaproblema.

I'm sure you "ATHEISTS" understand RESPECT right?

As far as i know dili man kamo ang gi bastos sa works ni Mideo Cruz, kami man, so nganong affected man sad kaayo mo? of course you also have rights, and wala jud ning pugong ninyo na di mo mu-tuo sa ginoo. but it is also our right na dili ma-bastos ang among faith, so learn to respect our rights too.

    In your words... PATAS RA.

again, it's not what he did to 'jesus'. why do you say that that image is jesus? because that's what the church told you. tracing back jesus' origin, that's not what he should like. he should look middle-eastern. i'm going to stop right here with this line of argument as it's just quibbling over insignificant details. there is a bigger issue here which you and many others are missing.

the core of these arguments go all the way back to what you've been fed by the church throughout your life. don't you realize that your very reaction has been conditioned in you by what the church has been teaching you?

the very fact of the matter is that your faith is not your own but a product of your education and upbringing. you have not had the chance to "think" about what you believe in. you are just believing it blindly because that is what has been "taught" to you.

you and many other people who are reacting over this issue are not thinking for yourseves.

that's the very core issue of what is happening here. the sooner you break free from your mindless regurgitation of what has been taught to you and start thinking for yourself, the sooner you become a positive contributor to a thinking populace.

    Mr. tylerdurden:

You have no right to mock us with our beliefs. This is our right. Just as it is your right to not be a Catholic or to believe in its doctrines.

My being a Catholic does not stop me from being a "positive contributor to a thinking populace".

the more you subscribe to the practice of adding "tags" to people, like "atheists" and "christians", the less you realize that those tags do nothing but separate people to clusters against each other.

what you should really try to do is attach a new tag to yourself and apply that tag to everyone. that tag is "humanity". under that tag, all our differing views and opinions are acceptable. because "humanity" is capable of that - of embracing differing opinions.

now under the tag of "humanity", your opinion/religion/belief is valid and so is everyone else's.

now you're going to ask for respect for your opinion/religion/belief. that's okay. however, before you do that, you also must give what you are asking for. you also must respect the opinion/religion/belief of anyone/everyone.

so here's the challenge: try the "humanity" tag for thirty seconds. every argument that comes to your mind, measure it against that tag. be honest and be sincere. be fair and be calm.

do this right and you will see that there is no argument here. it is your preconceptions, your tendency to separate people into groups, to separate yourself as a group against another group, to separate the artist from your group that make these things an issue for you.

wow, who are you to judge na my faith is not my own but a product of my education and upbringing. be careful sa imong accusations. my faith is my personal relationship with my god which happens to be Jesus Christ, not with the priests or the Catholic Church.

you know what, stop all the pretentions. you are saying all these things to make you sound more "enlightened" and "intellectual" kuno.

even if I am a Catholic, i still respect the beliefs of those in the Muslim, Buddhist or other religions. di man siguro kinahanglan naa kay religion para makat-on ka ug respect.

I am not mocking your belief. I am pointing out facts about your belief that you seem to be conveniently overlooking.

Your being Catholic has stopped you if you cannot even open your mind enough to allow for the existence of opinions such as what the artist of Poleteismo has.

Deep down, it is your pride that is making you blind. Your pride in your group that you defend blindly, without even thinking what your defense of your "catholic" group is costing you and your society.

Try for a little humility and open your mind.
