"What Mayor Inday Sara did was morally justifiable. At the time when she arrived on the scene of conflict, there was a veritable crime committed and being committed. She assumed authority and had from then on the legal and moral ascendance over the police, the settlers and even the sheriff. The irate squatters sat and kneeled on her orders, the policemen placed their truncheon in place. She brought back order in the bloody melee.
If Mayor Inday did not rush to the scene and assert her authority, Davao City will not only be in the front pages and television screens of national and international media because of the devastating floods but also with the blood of victims of demolition of human habitation."
