Memoirs of an Amnesiac

Many women may have fancied him with his swagger and sexy moves on the dance floor. Housewives and househelps alike may have quit household chores just to see him dance or act in his noontime show. Small wonder he gets all this support from his audience.

I was aghast when I first learned about what happened to him just last week. First it came as a hearsay, something that wafts through busy streets on a rather ordinary day. It was juicy and I couldn't wait to take a first bite. His story I must say, somehow made so much noise that Janet Lim-Napoles' issue, rice smuggling woes, oil price hike and basic commodities have all gone down the drain. What happened to him was way too hot like a pancake on a cold nearing-summer day.

Then came the pictures, then the CCTV footages. All were pointing to this one girl whom he allegedly raped. I heard the man with her was influential. Then my brain suddenly woozes into a frenzy. I couldn't start believing anything. They somehow showed so many sides to the issue.

What came out as an issue between him and this estranged girl turned out to be network feud. Reporters from both leading TV networks are getting involved. And they all made a great thing --that is, confuse me some more.

What the guy might have done to the girl was way too offensive. No one really knows. But the guy (as a matter of opinion), never deserves the kind of treatment he got. The mauling incident was too much. If the accusations were right against him, why is there money involved? What is the police blotter that he reportedly signed?

I admire his sense of calm during the incident. If I were in his situation, I would have freaked out and given money (not that I have that much to spare). But he remembered everything just as if they were just at the back of his hand. Amazing.

And the girl? She's had far too many TV exposures. I'm starting to think this is her obtrusive way of getting into showbizness, with all its dramas and histrionics.

I think this is enough reason I'm laying low from television right at this moment. Not while they're still on air, exposing each other's evidence before they even settle them in court. I hope this would end soon. They (in the showbizness) always complain about the public intruding their personal lives. I hope the public could somehow make their call: You're all over our faces.

I sincerely hope the truth will come out. Three sides indeed.
