Thank You for the Laughter

Like having an inkling of the appearance of rain, I seemed to have known his life would not stay longer, contrary to the reports that came out in the press.
His life on screen, spanning 40 years or so, has been really colorful. With innumerable wives and children from his different relationships, he has proven his romantic proclivity, on and off cam. For which lady who, after hearing his jokes, would not fall in love with such an endearing man? They say he epitomized the proverbial Juan de la Cruz by having worked as an OFW many years ago.
I grew up with this man whom my father fondly watches, even when Oriente was still the theater that was in vogue back then. His slapstick humor and timing, coupled with the many sidekicks he also worked comfortably with, are things that would forever leave an imprint on my childhood memory.
When I learned about his demise today, while yet caught in a histrionic scene from a teleserye I watch every now and then, I can't help getting sad, (especially since they kept flashing the video files of him talking about his passion for acting).
I know he will forever be missed, yet the legacy that he left -- the priceless laughter and tears (from too much laughter) would forever be etched in every Juan de la Cruz, struggling to live in a modern and stressful world. There can never be someone like him. He stands out among the rest.
Thank you for the laughter, Pidol. Rest in peace.
