Its theme was “Raising the Quality of TVET: A Key to Regional Economic Integration and Global Excellence.” TVET is the acronym for Technical Vocational Education and Training advocated by UNESCO.
The forum, which was held at the J Centre Mall Convention Hall, was aimed to increase awareness of TVET providers and partners all over the country. It was attended by almost a thousand participants coming from different sectors including professionals from the technical-vocational sector and students from different colleges and universities. TESDA Sec. Joel J. Villanueva was the guest speaker of the event. Many speakers from different organizations all over the world also provided insights on the best practices of tech-voc.
One other highlight of the event was the launching of the STAR Rating System of TVET Programs that would recognize the innovations, improvements and accomplishments of various Tech-Voc institutions set by the Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System of TESDA.
TESDA is the only ISO certified government education agency in the country. It has helped a lot of people through their technical and vocational education and training programs.
