First, let's start with the most distinguising feature of the logo, the red "i" with the yellow oval behind it. "i" here stands for you and me - each individual member of the community while the oval represents the rest of the community. To sum it up, it symbolizes "i am a part of a community" and this is the very essence of iSTORYA.NET - an online community.
Second is the name itself, iSTORYA. When we started we knew that we wanted to have a place where we can freely share our opinions and ideas (guided by rules of course), a place where we can talk about anything and something that most people would understand. In the Philippines, iSTORYA only means either one of the following in our various dialects: talk, chat, or story.
Third is the choice of the domain extension which is ".net". The ".net" extension represents network. Here, one can network with people and create friendships and even communities. This is the reason why iSTORYA.NET, over the years, has also grown to become a community of communities.
Lastly, the colors represent the colors of the flag of our country, the Philippines. Red, Yellow, and Blue. This gives us a distinct Filipino identity. We wanted iSTORYA.NET to be a home away from home for Filipinos all over the world. Today, we get hundreds of thousands of visitors from 217 countries.
The logo has been refined and polished over the years but the elements remain the same. Below is an infographic summary of this short article.
