This cooking competition is Hikay Lutong Pinoy’s first major event for 2014, where different schools and colleges competed against each other for the title and prestige to be known as the first ever Kaldero Sugbo Challenge winner and to have their prized winning dish introduced this coming December 2014 and included in Hikay Lutong Pinoy's 2015 menu.
Nine teams, each team composed of three members, competed for the grand prize. The challenge was to come up with three dishes, with a time frame of 40 minutes per dish for a total of two hours for all three dishes. All dishes should be native Filipino fusion-themed - using chicken, pork and seafood as the main ingredient for each dish.
