GCash Promotes Safe and Secure Transactions During Dinagyang and Sinulog Festivals
January is a lively month in the Philippines, marked by vibrant cultural celebrations that unite communities. This year, GCash took an active role in two of the country's biggest festivals: Dinagyang and Sinulog. The streets buzzed with lively music, energetic dances, and colorful festivities, with GCash enhancing the overall experience for everyone involved.
In Cebu City, GCash set up booths at key locations like Plaza Independencia, Fuente Osmeña, the CCSC Parade Route, and Ayala Center. Meanwhile, they established booths at Ayala Malls Atria and Festive Walk in Iloilo City.
Highlighting the importance of online security, GCash focused on raising awareness about phishing scams through its #GSafeTayo campaign. Festival-goers had the chance to participate in the "GCash Spot-a-Scam Bingo Challenge," an engaging activity designed to teach participants how to spot phishing attempts while vying for exciting prizes. This initiative aims to empower GCash users to protect their financial information, ensure privacy, and boost cybersecurity awareness, fostering a more secure digital community.
For those new to cashless transactions, GCash offered resources for registering GCash and GSave accounts, verifying accounts, and making their first cash-in. Participants walked away with specially designed GCash tote bags as a keepsake of the festivals.
GCash also introduced GLoan Sakto, an in-app loan feature that allows users to borrow small amounts with a quick 14-day repayment period at 0% interest. As a welcome gift, first-time users received unique GCash festival t-shirts.
Attendees were treated to tokens of appreciation, including t-shirts, umbrellas, and various giveaways, to make the festival experience even more enjoyable. A Buy Load booth provided convenient access for mobile load purchases, accompanied by complimentary items. Water and snacks were also offered for just P5, ensuring everyone could stay refreshed and enjoy the festivities comfortably.
Through these initiatives, both locals and tourists enjoyed a festival season that was not only memorable but also safer and more seamless.
