A-Plus Paints Achieves Lead Safe Paint® Certification

FH Colors & Coatings Corp. has reached a significant milestone in eliminating lead from architectural and industrial paints in the Philippines. The company has successfully passed the third-party Lead Safe Paint® Certification program, marking its commitment to producing safer, lead-free products.

The certification was overseen by SCS Global Services, a reputable US-based certification body, in collaboration with the International Pollutants Elimination Network (IPEN), headquartered in Sweden, and its local affiliate, the EcoWasteCoalition. This announcement coincides with the 8th International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, highlighting the global initiative to phase out lead paint.

Understanding Lead Safe Paint® Certification
Lead Safe Paint® is an independent, third-party certification confirming that a paint product contains less than 90 parts per million (ppm) of lead, measured on a dry weight basis. This threshold aligns with the standards set by the Philippines' DENR A.O. 2013-24 (Chemical Control Order for Lead and Lead Compounds) and the UN's recommended limit under the Model Law and Guidance for Regulating Lead Paint.
