Hello, Hong Kong

Saying Hello is an apt word for us. We last visited Hong Kong during our layover trip from Canada back in May 2019. Then, COVID happened, which stopped the whole world from doing any traveling outside of its borders.
Visiting Hong Kong at this time of the month differed from previous travels. July is still part of their summer season (summers are generally hot and humid) - Spring (March-May) is warm and humid. Summer (June–August) is hot and wet. Autumn (September–November) is temperate and settled. Winter (December–February) is cool and dry. We usually visit between autumn and winter. Cooler weather, though, needs layering in clothing.
Tips for braving the weather
Spring and Summer
- Bring a foldable wide-brimmed hat or umbrella to shield you from the hot sun or rain.
- Use sunblock to avoid sunburn
- Bring a water flask. Always remember to hydrate yourself. For example, water stations are available for free refills at Disneyland.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes.
- Bring an extra T-shirt/top. T-shirts, skirts, or shorts are recommended during summertime
Autumn and Winter
- A waterproof or water-repellent parka for outerwear
- Foldable umbrella
- A scarf, bonnet, and gloves, in case you feel cold
- Bring a water flask. Always remember to hydrate yourself. For example, water stations are available for free refills at Disneyland.
- For the said seasons, cloth layering is the key.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes.
- Long sleeve shirts, sweaters, and jackets with jeans or long pants are more suitable for wintertime.
