If you want to hit the cinemas during holidays, you might want to be reminded that it's also MMFF season! Starting December 25, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) locks most cinemas with local films. Whether this news is good or bad for the movie goers, it pretty boils down to preference. It might be worthwhile to note, though, that when you watch an MMFF local entry, you are also supporting the local movie industry.
This year, there are 8 entries to this film festival. There are 25 different titles to compete from, including the biggest award-- Best Picture.
You can show your support to our local movie industry by watching any or all of the following films during the holidays starting December 25:
Enteng Ng Ina Mo- A fantasy/comedy film by Star Cinema/APT Entertainment/M-Zet films starring Vic Sotto and Ai Ai delas Alas
Segunda Mano- a horror film by MJM productions by the queen of horror films herself Kris Aquino co-starred with Dingdong Dantes and Angelica Panganiban
Panday 2: Ang Ikalawang Aklat- Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. goes into another action/fantasy. This also stars Phillip Salvador, Iza Calzado and Marian Rivera. This is the official entry of GMA Films and Imus Productions.
Mr. Wong- Robin Padilla stars in an action/adventure film produced by RP Production. Her leading lady here is Angelica Panganiban
Shake, Rattle and Roll XIII- On its 13th series, this horror film does not die down. An entry by Regal Films, this stars Kathryn Bernardo, Albie Casino, Maricar Reyes and Eugene Domingo
Hototay- a comedy entry of Regal Entertainment/SMDC starring John Lapus, Ruffa Gutierrez, Andi Eigenmann, Lovi Poe and Melai Cantiveros
and lastly
Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow- a drama film entry of Studio 5 starring Heart Evangelista, Carla Abellana and Dennis Trillo
Enjoy the local films!
