For more than five decades, the Shell National Student Art Competition (NSAC) has developed and celebrated young Filipino visual artists by opening various opportunities in the art world. Now on its 55th year and part of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation’s commitment to supporting the Philippine art scene, this year’s theme is “Sulong Sining.” The theme is a call upon young artists to join the fight for change by showing who they are, what they value, and what they envision through art.
In addition to staging the 55th NSAC, Pilipinas Shell is also organizing three Virtual Art Interact Sessions to encourage and inspire creative talents who are just beginning to explore and hone their gifts. Each session allows young artists to learn and incorporate new techniques into their artistic journey.
The first leg of the Virtual Art Interact series is on October 15, 2022, featuring a moderated panel discussion about “How to Navigate Through the Crypto Space from a Digital Artisan Perspective” led by visual artist Julian Peter Arias and renowned painter Aldrine Alarcon.
Julian Peter Arias will also conduct a live demonstration on creating digital paintings and animated GIFs.
All sessions are free and open to young artists across the country. So join us as we gather the next generation of artists! Make use of the power of art and emerging technology, hone your gift, and change and shape the future of the Philippines. Register here.
