Leading integrated telco company PLDT, Inc. (PLDT) supports the government's vision to digitalize the Philippines by boosting the country's digital infrastructure.
"Recognizing the importance of public and private sector collaboration in accelerating digital transformation, PLDT supports the government's mandate to continuously improve the availability and performance of digital services in the country," said Alfredo S. Panlilio PLDT President and CEO.
Citing PLDT's investments in data centers like Vitro Sta Rosa and on international gateways like the Jupiter cable system, Panlilio also noted that these create the proper infrastructure that will propel the Philippines' digital transformation.
"These world-class infrastructures will build and drive the hyperscale ecosystem, which is a key economic ambition of the country," Panlilio added.
"We are committed to working with both public and private sectors to empower Filipinos with digital innovations that unlock and share their infinite potential," he said.
The Company's sustained investment in its network is bolstering PLDT's commitment to supporting the country's digital transformation. Network-related initiatives made up the bulk of the ₱89 billion spend for 2021. This brings PLDT's total CAPEX spent over the last 10 years to ₱518.5 billion. As a result, CAPEX's guidance for 2022 is at ₱85 billion.
