Local government units (LGUs) across Metro Cebu celebrate the new normal with a splash of color.
In partnership with Metro Cebu local government units, the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) launched the Shots of Hope Graffiti Contest, massive information, education, and communication campaign promoting COVID-19 vaccination, and the new normal.
The program brought color and hope to communities as LGUs continued with their efforts in getting Cebuanos vaccinated. In addition, Shots of Hope worked with the local government to beautify public spaces and reimagine life in fully vaccinated local communities.
The Shots of Hope Graffiti Contest winners are the following LGUs: First Place: Lapu-Lapu City, Second Place: Mandaue City, and Third Place: the Municipality of Minglanilla. Other participating LGUs were the Municipality of Consolacion, Talisay City, and the City of Naga. To beautify their public spaces, LGUs partnered and worked with local artists to paint large murals to the theme of “A Shot of Hope: Imagine a fully vaccinated LGU.” The massive murals are in key locations in their respective cities and towns.
Winners of the Shots of Hope Graffiti Contest were awarded based on the significant steps LGUs took in getting their constituents vaccinated. In addition, the contest measured the number of vaccinated constituents (60%) and the creativity of graffiti murals (public voting scored 40%, 50%).
“All the LGUs created stunning visuals of the new normal. It was truly inspiring to see their beautified public spaces and all the work they put into their local vaccination campaigns. All our LGUs have put a lot of thought, effort, and time into reaching their constituents and promoting the COVID-19 vaccination,” said Estee Marie Plunket, Assistant Vice President for Brand Development of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc.
RAFI organized the Shots of Hope in partnership with the Municipality of Consolacion, Mandaue City, the Municipality of Minglanilla, Lapu-Lapu City, Talisay City, and the City of Naga, Island Paints, Julies Bakeshop, the Creatives Cities Network, and Cebu Design Week.
