The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) will conclude the Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2018 in a grand and colorful ceremony that will honor individuals for their impressive contributions to Cebu’s vibrant economy.
Today, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry will recognize exemplary individuals as recipient of the Entrepreneur of the Year, Small Business Entrepreneur, Young Entrepreneur, Countryside Entrepreneur, Socially Responsible Entrepreneur, Innovative Entrepreneur, and Inspiring Woman Entrepreneur awards during the 2018 Grand Chamber Awards (GCA) and Fellowship Night which will be held at the Oakridge Pavillion, Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines.
During the event, businessmen, executives, entrepreneurs, members of the academe, government officials, consuls, and dignitaries will be entertained by the world-class performance of shadow play group El Gamma Penumbra, the grand champion of the first season of TV show 2015 Asia’s Got Talent. They will also get the chance to win raffle prizes, including a round-trip plane ticket to Hong Kong sponsored by Cathay Pacific.
This year’s Grand Chamber Awards and Fellowship Night is chaired by Christian Paro-an, president of RC Goldline Sale Shop, and co-chaired by Melita Ramos, vice president of Cebu Supergro Products Corporation, and Pia Monica Alturas, Visayas Area Head of China Savings Bank Inc. under the dynamic and vibrant leadership of CBM 2018 overall Chairman, Mr. Benedict Que, President of Golden Prince Hotel & Suites.
“These awardees are good role models and business leaders. They are catalysts of change who have built and sustained excellent businesses, a testament to their significant contributions to Cebu’s vibrant economy,” said Paro-an.
The Entrepreneur of the Year award recognizes the vital contributions of business leaders with an excellent business in operation for at least 10 years as of December 2017. The Small Business Entrepreneur award recognizes an entrepreneur whose small business that is operated for at least three years has a capital of P3 million to 15 million and who demonstrated outstanding accomplishments.
The Young Entrepreneur award acknowledges an entrepreneur who is less than 35 years old, for demonstrating exceptional acumen and outstanding accomplishments in his or her field of business. The company must be in operation for at least five years. The Countryside Entrepreneur awards recognizes an entrepreneur doing business outside Metro Cebu who demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in his or her field of business in the area where the business is located. It must be in operation for at least five years.
The Socially Responsible Entrepreneur award recognizes the entrepreneur who significantly addresses a specific social problem with a defined social impact aside from doing a successful business. He or she invests in order to deal with the needs of the society while making a profit, and embeds resilience and sustained development in the core of his or her business operations. The company must be at least five years in operation.
CCCI added two new awards this year: the Innovative Entrepreneur award and Inspiring Women Entrepreneur award.
The nomination process and selection of awardees for the Grand Chamber Awards was spearheaded by CCCI’s Council of Advisers.
