SM celebrates 60 years

SM’s 60^th-anniversary was kicked off by lighting up the Mall of Asia globe last May 22. In Cebu, SM Seaside City celebrated the company’s 60^th year on May 25. As a form of celebration, the branch held the Santacruzan sa Sugbo. The event was at the Mountain Wing Atrium of the mall.


Along with SM Seaside City, SM City Cebu and SM City Consolacion have many on-going deals and surprises for all mall-goers. A series of #AweSM deals, activities, and treats are in-store for customers in SM malls nationwide until October. Starting last May 22, National Book Store began its Grab & Go Pack promo. School materials packed into sets for Grades 1 to 3, Grade 4 to 6, writing, and drawing are being sold for as low as Php100. This promo will continue until supplies last. Acer Philippines and Samsonite also started their #CarryOn Back-to-School Promo. For every purchase of qualified Acer and Predator items, you get a free Samsonite luggage. This promo ends on June 30. EO is also having their Grand Anniversary Sale. You can get up to 50% off on selected contact lenses and eyewear. This sale ends on June 30. Among other deals is the SM Store Back-to-School Promo with Metrobank, which runs until July 31, as well as the HSBC: School’s Back Cash Back promo, which runs until July 1.

SM began its story when the first Shoemart store was opened by founder Henry Sy Sr. It expanded and evolved its shoe store chain into a department store which later became - SM. Today, SM has over 1,000 retail stores, 70 malls in the Philippines, and seven malls in China.
