I was wondering if there could also be an app like this for movies, songs, apps, games, etc. You know, before actually purchasing them, you get to have honest reviews on what they are like? I believe the best critics are the audiences themselves. Reviews should not be limited to one or two critics but consultation to the viewing/ listening/user market should be one thing that should be done before shedding off a few bucks.
Enters Get Glue—a media application available in iOS and Android users that allows you to check in to anything that you are doing—be it movie watching, listening to music or thinking about doing anything, or reading a book, it’s all in Get Glue. It’s simple as you just have to log in or check in to whatever you’re doing and it is displayed for others to see. Once you check in, you are an added live number on the others who also checked in to a similar thing that you are doing.
The app is categorized into five features:
1. Check-in Feature: As simple as it sounds, scroll down to whatever you are doing:
a. Watching TV (TV series, shows, sports, etc.)
b. Watching a Movie (either at home or at the moviehouse)
c. Listening to (Music or podcasts)
d. Reading (Books, magazines, reviews, etc.)
e. Playing (Video Games, board games, etc.)
f. Thinking About (Activities, Celebrities, Food, Drink, etc.)
Once you have selected what you are doing, you search for what you are actually doing then press check-in. Every check-in creates points and stickers per activity that are displayed in your profile. You can also go back to your check-in and write your own personal review.
The check-in feature also gives you the option to share this activity either to your Facebook, Twitter or Foursquare profiles.
Like Foursquare’s specials, you can also get promo rates on offering stores or media entertainments. (ex. 10% discounts on all Big Bang Theory merchandise, etc.). But I think this is much more beneficial in the US or Canada, not sure if would hold true with Philippine companies.
2. STREAM FEATURE
The Stream feature is a live feed of what you and your friends are doing.
3. CONVERSATIONS FEATURE
VOTE- Vote the checkin as “Agree” , “Cool” or “Funny”
REPLY- This is where you will have your say on every check-in, others’ or yours.
The votes and replies helps you determine the quality of a show or restaurant or book or any activity based on the answers and number of viewers in your friends’ list.
4. Guides Feature
This is probably one of my most favorite features of the app. From all the check-ins all over the world, it will automatically categorize trending shows/music/etc. Based on your check-ins, it will also recommend things that you might want to check in the future. It will give you a front view of what others are checking in, what’s actually good to do, to watch, or to listen to. It also gives a list of new things per activity (like new TV shows, new movies, new books, etc.) and you can also explore and rate other activities.
5. STICKERS Feature
Stickers are your rewards for checking in! This app has lots of surprise and generic stickers that keeps you motivated in checking in. Based on the number of times that you check in, you get elevated from a Fan to a Superfan or Elite Fan, depending on certain activities that you check in to. The stickers may be pointless but hey, they make fun incentives.

App Load- Sometimes, it gets a few seconds to check-in, but not sure if this is the app or the phone. Either way, it’s not that annoying to dwell

Popularity: More than 2 million users all over the world, recommended by movie production companies from 20th Century Fox, ABC, Disney, Discovery, Travel Channel, Sony Pictures,HBO, MTV, ESPN, Food Network, etc.
Overall: Get Glue is simple and fun. If you are the type of person who’d like to keep track of what you’re doing, share it with friends, or just do something to keep you from getting bored, then I guess this is one app that you should add.
