Robinsons Galleria Cebu sparked the beginning of the holidays together with their valued shoppers as they lit up their European Fir Tree on Nov. 12.
With this year’s theme “Sparkling Holidays at Robinsons Malls”, Robinsons Galleria Cebu showcased their gorgeous Fir Tree with intricately-designed garlands and designed by MK Illumination, a lighting manufacturer in England.
Keeping up with their commitment to energy conservation as a Green mall, Robinsons Galleria used a total of 16,000 eco-friendly LED lights which were manufactured in Europe.
Leading the ceremonial tree-lighting event were the executives of Robinsons Malls and Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson.
On the same night, Robinsons Galleria Cebu officially launched the Festival of Trees 2017, an exhibit for a cause which gives various organizations in Cebu the stage to showcase their ingenuity by designing their own unique Christmas tree while raising funds through it for their chosen beneficiary. A total of 18 organizations have joined this year’s exhibit.
Hope in a can
More than keeping up with the tradition, Cebu Parklane International Hotel always strives to find purpose and meaning in its annual Christmas tree lighting activity. For the last five years, the hotel has been doing magic in turning recyclable materials into a beautiful and splendid Christmas tree while forwarding a worthy cause. And they keep getting better at it each year.
Cebu Parklane has been using recyclable materials for their Christmas trees for five years now. This year, the hotel used 19,000 soda cans while conducting a fundraising activity for the cancer patients of Cancer Warriors Foundation.
Cebu Parklane had raised a total of 80,000 pesos for the foundation.
This year, Parklane latches on the theme “We Can Because of a Can” for the core concept of their Christmas campaign aimed at helping the cancer patients of Cancer Warriors Foundation.
Parklane has teamed up with Coca-Cola Products to put up an ingenuine Christmas tree made up of soda cans. A total of 19,000 cans were used in designing the tree.
Instead of Christmas balls, the tree is embellished with a different set of soda cans turned into Christmas trinkets and sold to the hotel’s patrons. Each trinket is at P250 and P400 or the equivalent prices of a single chemotherapy vial.
Merriment for a cause
Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark Cebu made their ceremonial Christmas tree lighting event last Nov. 15 a significant moment to go back to the essence of celebrating Christmas: Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection to save mankind from sins. As an act of gratitude, the resort-inspired patrons, and guests to pay this goodness forward by helping people who are in need this season.
Alongside lighting their beautiful candy-themed fir tree, Jpark also launched their “Merriment for a Cause” campaign which aims to raise funds for the less fortunate children from Kythe Foundation and the Lapu-Lapu City Home Care Center. Jpark is selling candy canes through this campaign worth P200 each.
