• Parklane's Sangka sa Kaha: Humba De Ronda


      In 2007, Cebu Parklane International Hotel initially re-directed its thrust to be a hotel that stands for Cebu. This is materialized by using Cebuano in greeting guests and having a Cebuano menu in the daily buffet at the main restaurant. In late 2010, the hotel was finally able to map out comprehensive strategies and projects in fulfillment of our vision and slogan, “A hotel in Cebu that stands for Cebu.

      The hotel opened its specialty restaurant located at the 4th floor, aptly named "Kan-anan"ť (eatery in Cebuano) last May 15, 2011. The restaurant is primarily dedicated to showcasing the best Cebuano cuisine from the North down to the South. One of the major highlights of the restaurant is the presentation of the specialties of each city or municipality through "SANGKA SA KAHA", a friendly cook-out or competition between the locality's kusineros. The winner of the competition will then be featured as the cook of the month showcasing the dish of his expertise.

      Last January 29, 2012 Municipality of Ronda pioneered the project in cooperation with the Province of Cebu and the Municipality of Ronda.
      Showcasing their mouthwatering Humba, the cooks battled out their specialties and made the judges savor every bite of their authentic dish.

      The cook out was participated by local cooks namely, Mr. Julieto Zuasola, Mr. Gregorio Palanas, Mr. Juncar Satina, Mr. Rey Satina and last but not the least, the winner of Humba de Ronda, who will be featured at Kan-anan showcasing her own secret recipe of Humba, Ms. Lucia Ypanto.

      Parklane Hotel with full support from the Province of Cebu and Municipality of Ronda, with Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, Ms. Mary Grace Paulino and Mayor Mariano Blanco III, stand proud to have pulled off, once again, the first and the only project to promote Cebu's tourism through food and hospitality.

      Sangka sa Kaha was also participated by judges from diverse industries, these were Mr. Adolf Aran, Jr. President, FOOD & HOSPITALITY EVENTS SPECIALIST, INC., Mr. Kevin Cook ,Publisher, Cebu Review and their very own Chef Armand Polon - Executive Chef, Cebu Parklane International Hotel.

      Humba de Ronda marks only the beginning; rest assured that Parklane Hotel will continue to roam around Cebu for their next stop. Who knows, your municipality might be next, so prepare those recipes and Cebu Parklane might come knocking at your doors.
