The development is located in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City. It has access to national roads - Lopez Jaena St., M. Logarta St., and Ouano Avenue. Hence, it is envisioned to be the dynamic center of the city because of its location and ease of access via the three mentioned national roads.
With Gatewalk Central, ALI reinforces its commitment of developing masterplanned estates such as the Makati Central Business District, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), and Cebu Business Park, while Aboitizland fortifies its purpose towards nurturing local communities through strong and pioneering concepts.

Jun Bisnar, Cebu Holdings, Inc. President / COO of Ayala Land, Inc - VisMin Group, said that planning for the project started a year ago and that Gatewalk Central is about convenient living, where it is the center of diversity and excitement.
According to Bobby Dy, ALI President and CEO, a 10 billion peso investment is set for the initial phase of the development within the next 3 to 5 years creating ten thousand jobs in the process. "We are very excited about this development. Once complete, it's character and features is something the local market had not seen before," Dy added.
Avida will be the first development at Gatewalk Central, a residential component of the estate which will comprise of 1,800 units. Pre-selling for the units will be launched later this year.
The Ayala Mall, which will feature Landmark department store as its anchor, will open in 2019. Apart from Landmark, the mall will have a wide mix of popular global and local brands where it is positioned to be a shopping destination with affordable options incorporating local and fresh concepts for an interactive environment.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by officials from the Provincial government of Cebu City led by Gov. Hilario Davide III; officials of the Mandaue City government led by Mayor ; and the management teams of Ayala Land and Aboitizland led by their president and CEOs Bobby Dy and Andoni Aboitiz respectively.
