Over 30 people participated in the event organized by Passion and Projects. The simple gathering of pro and newbie calligraphy artists is the first one in Cebu. Various skills were introduced to the participants which included brush calligraphy, pointed pen calligraphy, watercolor and digital. The guest speakers were April Mae Valencia-Carrillo of First of April (brush calligraphy), Ef Are Mirasol Rolian of Blinkbox Photography (pointed pen calligraphy), Doc Nanette Nacorda – Catigbe of Mucchio di Bella Pastries and Art (watercolor calligraphy), Wilbert Wee of Weebong’s Weemsical Work (watercolor calligraphy) and graphic illustrator Dindo Contento (digital calligraphy).
The proceeds for the event was for the benefit of the kids at Cebu Hope Center. Aside from the monetary aid, the team also taught the children at the center the art of calligraphy.
The art of calligraphy started trending in Cebu last year with several workshops held in various places. Passion & Projects took the art of calligraphy in Bacolod with their Make It Happen Brush Calligraphy Workshop. Aside from calligraphy, Passion & Projects also hold other art workshops including painting, photography and blogging.
