Of course, what Mindanao trip would be complete without going to Surigao Del Sur's Enchanted River, right?
Although there is no hint of blue yet, this scenic view is actually where the sea meets the river as it is only a few meters away from the famous blue spot we all see in photos.
We had lunch at this beautiful restaurant that's literally ON the ocean as it rests on wooden stilts. This popular Surigao eatery also let's you play and pet sting rays!
Island hopping!
SURIGAO DEL NORTE
Surigao Del Norte is a quiet place that doesn't have much to provide for those who seek shopping and sophisticated leisure. Rather, it is a place worth considering when retreats and team building activities are in mind. We went to the City of Surigao months after we first went to Del Sur, so when the idea of going to the famous pebble beach was brought up, the long hours spent on the bus AGAIN was the first thing I considered. Even so, I decided to push through anyway.
It was really windy when we got there.
Other than Siargao, I have never seen waves as massive as the ones I saw in Del Norte. This photo is an understatement. I tried bathing for a few minutes, but the current was a little too strong for me and my self-indulgent figure; and even when you just sit at the shoreline and drench only your legs in the water, you will notice that small pebbles hit you hard when the waves crash.
As expected, you will see an abundance of pebbles at the pebble beach

Perhaps the weather just wasn't fine when we got there.
