Ayala Center Cebu won the gold award in the 2015 Asia Pacific Shopping Center Awards competition of The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). The award was given on October 20 during RECon Asia in Taipei, Taiwan. This coveted awards competition recognizes the region’s most innovative shopping centers for outstanding achievement in marketing, design and development and retail.
Ayala Center Cebu garnered Gold in the renovations and expansions design and development category. This category recognizes retail properties for their overall design qualities and creativity in development, through renovation or expansion of an existing property or in innovative design of a new retail project.
This award honors the addition of Ayala Center Cebu’s new expansion wing, which houses an extensive combination of local Cebuano retailers and international offerings within a modern and graceful façade that personifies the cosmopolitan city. The overall ambiance is reflective of the Cebuano culture—bright with warm lighting and high ceilings and wide hallways create a sense of spaciousness.
Professional recognition for Ayala Center Cebu’s success is given to the following: developer Cebu Holdings, Inc.; design architects Altoon + Porter Architects; and production/executive architects GF & Partners Architects.
In addition, all 2015 Asia Pacific Shopping Center Award Gold winners are automatically eligible to win ICSC's prestigious VIVA Award. The ICSC VIVA Awards, which recognize the retail real estate industry’s most cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions, and creative responses to market trends throughout the world, will be presented during ICSC's annual convention, RECon, May 22, 2016 in Las Vegas.
