$5,000.00 bond for OFW Direct Hires?

Wow, I've just received an info from a friend of mine regarding Stricter Policy implemented by our Government.

This is the text message i received:

"Stricter Policy adopted for OFW direct hires. Direct hires like on-line applications must seek approval from labor secretary prior to the
deployment. This is effective January 15, 2008. Number of employees hired by foreign employers must not exceed 5, must comply strict docs requirements, including $5,000.00 bond."

I can't believe this. It makes it harder for us Filipino to be hired by foreign employers if this is the case. Unless you're really a great asset for them. I don't know the purpose of this but, if kung akoy employer, i would rather hire somebody from India. Unless kung gi-implement pud ni didto and other Asian countries.

I mean, what good does it bring for us Pinoys? Di ba?

Sure ni, gi announce ni pag Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar sa OWWA-POEA pag January 15. Direct hire sad ko. Pero ang angay mobayad ani, imo man employer. Another way to circumvent this is to go through an agency "kunohay".

Maayo pa mobayad na lang ka ug under the table sa Immigration Officer sa airport inig larga, bisan wala ka'y OEC lusot gihapon ka, mas barato pa.

correct. ok ra ni oi...i read it carefully and i see nothing wrong w/ it...

Employers should be the ones to pay the bonds & insurance, or if they dont wanna pay, they can go thru licensed placement agencies.

the adoption of a stricter policy on direct hires aims to strengthen the protection mechanisms for OFWs, especially DOMESTIC HELPERS in the MIDDLE EAST, and MALAYSIA, where abuse is rampant.

besides, direct hiring is allowed only for members of the diplomatic corps and international organizations, government officials of ministerial level, and employers who are hiring on one-time or trial basis.

ang problema lang aning ubang mga placement agencies is that they charged excessive placement fees and substituted new contracts to supersede those that previously met Philippine government standards...

so mao ra gyud ni bantayan nato...DO BACKGROUND CHECK FIRST TO BE SURE...
