    Default "Dual Boot" Your PSP

    Taken from http://pinoypsp.com/index.php/topic,184269.0.html

With the release of the Pandora's Battery, not only you can downgrade/unbrick units but at the same time you can have your unit boot a full firmware from the magic memstick. Below are the steps how you can turn your magic memstick to an "external nand flash" capable of booting
    official (custom) firmware.

    A. The tools you need:

    1. Working magic memory stick.

    2. Latest version of PSARDumper (just for compatibility, if you want to boot a higher official firmware from the magic memory stick)

    3. PSPBrew or any application that can extract DATA.PSAR from the official firmware EBOOT.PBP

    4. Any text editor application for your PC.

    5. Official Firmware EBOOT.PBP (or a dump of the flash0 of a custom firmware)

    6. A copy of the registry folder (including its contents) from your Flash1

    B. Steps

    1. Make a backup of the KD folder of your magic memory stick (copy it to your PC, or just make a new folder like kd_pandora on your magic memory stick)

    2. Use PSPBrew to extract the DATA.PSAR from the official firmware EBOOT.PBP

    3. Copy the DATA.PSAR to the root of your memory stick.

    4. Install PSARDumper to your PSP (by now you should already know how to install homebrew app )

    5. Launch PSARDumper and press O (circle) to dump an encrypted but unsigned firmware files to your memory stick.

    6. PSARDumper will dump the files in FO folder on the root of your memory stick, copy all its contents to your PC

    7. Launch again PSARDumper, but this time press [] to make a decypted file dump and save it to your PC (make sure you put in on a different folder from the earlier dump you made in step 6)

    8. Copy the contents of the first dump you made to the root of the memstick (after this you must see a couple of new folder on the root like vsh, data, font etc). Its ok to overwrite the contents of the existing KD folder, since you did step 1 right?

    9. From the second dump you made (decrypted), go to KD folder and look for these 3 text files,pspbtcnf.txt,pspbtcnf_updater.txt,pspbtcnf_g ame.txt. Copy these files to the KD folder of your memstick overwriting the existing ones.

    10. Using notepad or any text editor edit these files to include the following:

    - after /kd/fatmsmod.prx line, add a line with "/kd/flashemu.prx"
    - change /kd/lfatfs.prx by /kd/lfatfs_patched.prx

    11. Copy the registry folder from your flas1 to the root of your memory stick and we're done.

    12. Together with the jigkick battery, this magic memory stick will now boot the firmware dumped to it.

Now you have a sort of a "dual boot PSP", use a normal battery your unit will boot from the built-in nand flash, change it to service (jigkick) mode then it will boot from the magic memory stick.

** if you want to boot the custom firmware installed on your unit from the magic memory stick, just dump the kd folder from the flash0 to the magic mermstick's
    root folder.

** if you want to revert back to the Pandora menu at boot, just rename the current kd folder, and restore your backup of the original kd folder

Tested this with 1.50, important functions like UMD launching, USB mode and homebrew launching works. Wha'ts the use ? you might ask. Well for one you wont need a spare battery since you can now launch the battery creator even the battery is in service or jigkick mode.

Credit goes to Mathieulh and Dark_Alex for providing the steps.
