Yes, but you are forgetting that this story is actually an allegory to the REALITY of it all...after World War II, the United States as a super power effectively made him that "one American" on that island with the 7 asians. Thus your scenario of reversing the situation seems a bit awkward.

Well that is how the video is trying to portray the story using subjects that has hidden agendas like " AMERICAN " and " ASIAN " . It is very symbollic , I look at it in a plain view of an explanation being simplified . I agree with you though regarding AMERICA equating as an OPPRESSOR .

I don't know if you watched the video or not, but the speaker is an AMERICAN wall street investor and finance analyst, who acknowledges the fact about the US trade defeciet, and why Americans should stop spending and try to produce more to help stop this problem.

rodsky, this is quite interesting, the whole idea is kinda similar in some respects to John Perkins' "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" (also in youtube).

He used to be this "Economic Hit Man" where he goes to this countries that the US government considers as a viable, and goes on to convince the powers that be in those countries to loan huge amount of money from US banks to do public works projects (which happen to be handled by a US company) and which he knows that it can not pay back. Then those countries will be virtually in debt and the US government will strong arm them to open up their natural resources (that could be oil or plantation rights) at a very low price so that companies from America will take advantage of this.

For me His theories are a bit far out but it will explain a lot of things that currently happen around the world.
