Cebu is now gearing to reclaim its lost status, it once held, as a major movie production center in the country by way of Bigfoot Entertainment. Through its production arm, Bigfoot Productions, it will soon produce a movie which will be entirely shot in Cebu casting both local talents and Hollywood actors.
Bigfoot Entertainment is a fully integrated entertainment company specializing in four different areas; production, professional training, production services and film financing, whose headquarters are based in Cebu City, the Philippines.
Its debut feature film, 3 Needles, starring Lucy Liu, Chloe Sevigny and Shawn Ashmore in three different lead roles, won 2 major awards including Best Direction and Best Cinematography during the 2004 Atlantic Film Festival in Halifax, Novia Scotia in Canada. 3 Needles tells the moving story of how the harshest tragedy can sometimes brings out the best in people. It also premiered as a special presentation in Toronto Film Festival in September this year. Michael Gleissner, Chairman of the Board of Bigfoot Group of Companies, served as the executive producer.
Other feature films in varying stages of production in its newly constructed facilities in Mactan Island are Dogwalker, The Curiosity of Chance, Irreversi, Social Grace and Shanghai Kid. All are scheduled for international release.
The Cebu movie, initially titled Cockfight, will cast Hollywood box-office king Adam Sandler as its lead star. Local talents will also be tapped as it will also showcase Cebu’s cultural and social heritage.

The academy’s philosophy is to combine both theory and real-world applications to create a hands-on approach for students.
