Ako e retain ang high-performance/high-end memory with heatsinks of 2GB (1g+1g) or ilisan nako og ordinary memory of 4GB (2g+2g)? Gamiton nako sa 3D intensive gaming, intensive photo editing, and intensive video editing...

superlative words gyud ang gigamit nimo dah... hehehe... sa word na "intensive" labi na sa video editing, 16 GB is minimum (better gani ang 32 GB as minimum)... anyhow, can you provide the details sa imohang software na gi gamit? para ma check sa atoang mga kakusa na suhito sa apps then maka provide sila'g inputs nimo pud...

like nako, gamit ko'g Adobe CS4 Production Premium Edition sa akoang video editing gamit CS4 Premiere Pro & CS4 After Effects... lngaw2x lang... mao ni ang resulta... wala man ni mercury engine sa CS4 so, wala'y gamit ang CUDA cores sa GPU... dili lang nko i-mention ang GPUs ha... pero, naa'y plug-in (accelerator for nvidia CX GPU ang CS4)... pas2x kaayo ni during video encoding... una ni sya sa mercury engine... but on the CS suite now, GPU accelerated man ni sila... pas2x kaayo ni... but, a good size of ram and a "true" quad core CPU as minimum is still required... not to mention sa SSD for scratch disk and fast HDDs on RAID configuration... these are just a nice to have... for a "pro" level editing rig on Adobe CS suite...

HDD ra gamit sa scratch disk and Apps drive... again, for reference lang...

sa ani na work load, mas better ang more CPU cores and a faster GPU... Nvidia for CUDA for Adobe CS5.5 & above...

naa'y apps na mas gaan compared aning Adobe Premier Pro man hinoon and forgiving sa HW configuration... but, wla ko naka gamit nila...

by the way, video encoding & editing gyud ni ang imoha ha... dili video transcoding? ang video transcoding, gaan ra man ni sya... a quadcore CPU w/ 4 GB system mem would be better and a nvidia GPU w/ more CUDA cores would be "best" if the transcoding apps will utilize nvidia CUDA...

ang SONY Vegas, dili kuno ni sya hanep ug HW requirement... for sure, ang HW requirement kay dependent ni's apps version nya pud... personally, wla ko naka try ani...

Dakoa pod sa inyo mga recommended hehe, maka dugo og ilong. Actually, dugay nako nag gamit og 6GB nga memory sa lain nga computer with Photoshop CS6 og Premier Pro, okay man performance editing multiple layers of photos, and HD videos; Cguro inyo pasabot anang very huge memory usage para pa kusog pa maayo sa performance nga makadugo gyud og dunggan hehe(nindot na sulayan pohon). Anyhow, naa man gud ko hinipus nga ordinary 4gb(2gbx2) RAMs then ang naka taud karon sa ako computer kay 2gb(1gbx2) high-end RAMs with heatsinks and fins.... Mao naglibog ko kung ako ba e retain ang high-end nga rams of 2gb or gamiton nako ang 4gb nga ordinary rams.

^ pwede ra na gamiton nimo sila on mixed mode kun pwede sa tanan available mem slots... it would be running on a single channel though... gamay ra man hinoon pud ang actual performance difference nila's system running w/ a double channel set of mem modules... dili ta maka bantay sa performace difference between ordinary mem modules and high end modules w/ heat sinks. dako ra na'g actual performance gain during benchmark then hanep ang HW configuration... for us w/ ordinary HW config, the same perf ra na sila kay I-consider man tanan HW factors...

akoang ma suggest nimo kay mao ni... gamit lang usa na until such time na mag upgrade ka to a latest platform that's a step ahead DDR3... granting, stable ang rig nimo - BSOD free sya...
