MISSISSAUGA - A Streetsville family was preparing for Christmas earlier this week and now they’re planning a funeral after a father of two was stabbed to death — allegedly by his 15-year-old daughter.
Residents in their quiet suburban neighbourhood, near Mavis Rd. and Matheson Blvd., say they never could have imagined such violence might occur behind the walls of the Filipino family’s two-storey, semi-detached house.A teenage girl who was arrested at the home following the deadly stabbing was officially charged with second-degree murder on Wednesday.
She can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. And in order to protect her identity, police are not releasing the victim’s name.Little is known about the daughter, but Sawyers-James said she “didn’t seem happy.”
“She didn’t talk much,” she said of the teen. “She would pass without saying ‘Hi,’ but I figured it was adolescence, the hormones, so I didn’t take it personally.”
