For sure, before Martial Law, Ferdinand Marcos was the best president of the Philippines supposedly as his infrastructure projects were enormous compared to the past governments before him however Ferdinand Marcos did a mistake of prolonging himself beyond 1980 and never appointed a viable successor so that his projects would have been maintained.

Oh yes, Marcos' first term arguably saw the most progression and development for the Philippines under any Filipino president up to that time. But he sat there too long. The other mistake is his installment of cronies AND not periodically changing them.
