Come next month, Intel will expand its range of mobile Ivy Bridge CPUs will some more dual core models as well as some new ULV models and although this in itself is no big secret, pricing of the upcoming models have now turned up. This gives us a good idea as to how Intel is positioning the various SKU's and it also makes for an easy comparison to the current models.Starting at the top – cost wise that is – we have the Core i7-3667U and Core i7-3520M, both of which are dual core models priced at US$346. This is a mere US$32 cheaper than the quad core Core i7-3720QM and the same as the current Core i7-2649M and Core i7-2640M. With regards to the Core i7-3667U you're actuall getting a CPU that's 300MHz slower than the Core i7-2649M, but in all fairness, the Core i7-2649M isn't a ULV model, but rather an LV model with a 25W TDP. The Core i7-3520M on the other hand is 100MHz faster than the Core i7-2640M.Next up we have the Core i5-3360M at US$266, or the same price point as the Core i5-2540M, but with a 200MHz higher base clock. The last two models are the US$225 Core i5-3427U and Core i5-3320M. Here only the Core i5-3320M is a direct replacement in terms of cost as it should replace the Core i5-2520M and once again we're looking at a 100MHz clock speed improvement. The Core i5-3427U is actually US$25 cheaper than any of Intel's current Core i5 ULV models and it's clocked 100MHz faster than the Core i5-2557M which makes it the only relative bargain in this collection of upcoming mobile CPUs.Source: CPU World
